C10 vs K10 steering component kits

Good to know. Sad that seems to be pretty much across the board these days.

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

@Bextreme04. And anybody else following. In regards to the Delphi tie rod....or tie rods in general. Is it worth spending the extra $$ on Moog? Or is it just hype around the name? I've found the moog equivalent (ES449L) and all the other parts I have installed are moog. Its just $20-$30 more...

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

@AuroraGirl. That is very possible. And thankfully I have found all the appropriate tie rods / ball joints / drag links. So it will be back on the road pretty soon. @akchevrolet. Thanks. I'm quite fond of her. Its still a long way from "done" and its been a nightmare. But it was well...

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

Lol i mean...about half of it fits. I just keep getting bamboozled on parts because this truly is a Frankenstein suburban. My D44 is from 74-75' k10. I'm willing to bet there is not a single "matching number" on this rig.

@AuroraGirl Did you mean to post all that on this thread?

@Bextreme04 Are there any wheel bearing / seal kits that I should avoid? Or any that you would recomend?

    Dirt Trail K10 Question

@mitch_f. Assuming it starts, runs, and stops well.... I would rebuild your front end (ball joints / tie rods / drag links) ...or at least be prepared to. In the process of installing all moog parts now. Got hung up because the previous owner swapped the axle with a D44 out of a 75ish...

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

@75gmck25 I think I found it in a kit (ES449L). Assuming the website im linking to is legit. That is a pricy kit. And sadly, as of right now, you cant get either link for cheap on Amazon. But thankfully all the ball joints are the same...

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

So...i just identified my front axle as a Dana44. Acording to the BOM code (603454 9)....its from a "74-75' K5 / K10 Pick up or wagon". Has a 3.07 ratio. So thats interesting. Now....should all the steering parts I'm buying be for this axle? Like ball joints and such as well? And is there...

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

Idk if I'm just searching the wrong terms...but all of the parts im finding do not have this bend. They are flat. The one I was sent also has a hole in it...im assuming for another dampner? Lol if there was a class on finding parts, I would take it. So far its been the hardest part of...

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

@75gmck25. You are a God send brother. Thats the part on my truck. You wouldent happen to have a PN handy for the other end? It appears that I also have the wrong part there as well (go figure).

C10 vs K10 steering component kits

So.... The moog "outer center drag link" (DS893) that I ordered for my truck very much does not match the unit on my rig. The one on my truck connects to the steering damper in the center. The one I was sent (and that ive found in every other kit) has the hole just a couple inches from the...

    sway bar bushing

@Raider L No summit....but Hot Rod Expresss is right up the road. I normally use Lucas grease but I'll get some silicone for good measure.

    sway bar bushing

Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and returned the moog bushings and purchased the front sway bar set from energy. The one extreme linked too. They should get here today.

Idk why these would not just come with end links

    sway bar bushing

@Bextreme04 So.... Moog part number K7326 is for the "front" front sway bar bushings. I figured it came with the end links, similar to the ones you linked to. But nope. From what I could gather, I thought the moog kit I linked to was a "universal" kit? But I'm dumb so I'll take your word...

    sway bar bushing

Ive been having the same issue with my 83 k10 suburban. I have the 1-1/4" inch bar as well. I thought the Moog "front" bushings came with the link bushings but I was mistaken. Would this kit suffice? MOOG K8657 Stabilizer Bar Link Bushing Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C59ZMC/

    Dumb question.....

I really don't think its running badly at all. And I have hydraulic brakes so no booster line. I tried to take a video...but....its kinda just loud. I dumped a little fuel right on that fitting between the carb and dist. Nothing changed at all. I tried cupping my hands over the...

    Dumb question.....

No...i have a newly rebuilt eddy 1407 on a 1" spacer. Ive checked all the gaskets. And the truck seems to be running quite well. Ive checked the vacuum hoses. Replaced one t-fitting. I'm beginning to think the carb is just loud. Although the sound does not really change if I pull the...

    Dumb question.....

@Raider L I just saw yours and extremes posts on this. But thanks for the info. It sounds like I have a massive vacuum leak coming from somewhere around the carb. But I cant find it... Ive tried spritzing carb cleaner / starting fluid around but nothing impacts it. Is a 750cfm carb...

My k10 suburban has a very mildly built 454 w/ th400 and sheis my daily driver. I'm pulling just about 12mpg on trips. Around town its between 6 and 8 mpg depending on if I can keep my foot out of the secondaries. But here in Missouri we really dont have squat for emissions testing. And my...
