    Got me to thinking now. I still have a driver’s drop parts 241. Wonder if I could 3d print an adapter to go in the original hole? Or machine me one out of aluminum here at work?

    I use Pecard’s Leather Dressing (or Pecard’s Antique Leather Dressing on the 1800s original leather items I have) Like others have said, give it a day to absorb into the leather before use Plenty of good options out there. Find something you can access local if you use a lot.

    88-89 also had trip odometers. Both my 88 crew cabs have them, but my 87 R10 doesn’t so I believe the start was 1988

    Truck was run about 10 years with a 700r4 with roughly the same mileage, only going back to the 4 speed when the 700r4 went out (the 700 was used when it was installed) On a NA 6.2, I would worry, but with the Banks, the engines seem to do a lot better

    My 84 K10 has 33s and 3.42 gears, and a very early Banks set up on the 6.2. (I tried to buy this truck new in Nov 1983, not knowing a buddy had ordered it, and the dealership was waiting on the turbo stuff from Banks) I regularly get 24-25 mpg with no overdrive. Going to swap the 4 speed out...

    If it is a daily with very little towing, the 6.2/6.5 would be an easy swap. If you plan to pull a 65-100hp tractor regularly, I’d suggest a Cummins swap. Do you have anything constructive to say? You seem to grumble about most things on here.

    Quadrajet Primary Shaft Bushings

    That’s a lot of work to machine plugs when, once removed, we tapped the primary ones for 10-32 plugs and Marine Tex, or Devcon epoxy the threads. Even Cliff has suggested that over the years. Guess I’m a dinosaur though, as I was doing that in the 80s and early 90s.

    You thread and use pipe plugs on the casting plugs? Or put epoxy over them? Have bushinged many Q-jets over the years, but only one or two in the last 15 or so years. Glad to see others still doing it.
