K Series Kohler, 2 cylinder - Oil Consumption - Advice?

Being that the engine runs, I would perform a compression test. Follow up with leak down test. Read up on that. Its an internal combustion engine so no special diagnosis required. Good luck

    No spark problems.

As you stated HEI would eliminate points and capacitor. I lean towards coil as well. The ignition control module typically are not intermittent, either they work or do not.

What have you done to your square lately??

For what it's worth, the late model trucks use dual fans. With a combination of 3 relays, can actually switch the fan speeds depending on demand. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Any such thing as a good Service Manual?

For years the publisher of the service manuals, unit repair, wiring, and owner manuals was Helms. Try a search, been a while but that's what I did prior to the internet. By the way, nothing better than factory manuals. Haynes, chilton, motor, are meh

Different tires or LSD in front or back?

Taylor, have you considered mounting the plow to your tractor? With some fab and welding you may be able to do this with parts on site

    77 K10 LS Swap

Brother, the pictures you post earlier sure look more like filter debris than fuzz from a rag unless you aren't meticulous with cleaning. Wouldn't expect Fram to admit fault anyway Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Manual Hub Identification

The 50 pound feet sets the preload. Back off ONLY enough to install the locking mechanism. Heck if you want to, place the fish scale on the lug nut and verify! We put many of these kits on back in the day

    Manual Hub Identification

Back in the 80's we used to put the manual lock hubs on these trucks. I would just do a search using your vehicle. Seems like Warn used to make them. Complete kits were not too $$$$.

    700R4 Rebuild cost

I build my own transmissions whether it be automatic or manual. The last 700R4 I did for my son in law's '90 silverado was a stock type build with reman torque converter. Parts cost about $350 because it had some hard part damage. (he had a tendency to throw it into park when backing down the...
