I am taking out the factory 350 TBI and installing a Blueprint 454 with a carb on my 1987 V10. Does anyone know what headers will fit this 4X4 application? I will run dual exhaust in the factory location from the Magnaflows back. Also I would like to know what mini starter to use. My last issue is the A/C lines. The stock motor has the A/C compressor on the drivers side. The new engine has the A/C compressor on the passenger side so the lines will be much shorter. Thank you in advance for any answers you can tell me!!

I'm not going to be of much help to you, but I have some thoughts on the A/C lines. First you could look at trucks that came factory with the 454 and see if any of those A/C lines would work for you. If not shops that make hydraulic lines can often make A/C lines. You'll need the ends and you'll need to know the length you want. Back in the day there was a NAPA that use to do that sort of work, and a tractor shop. Now only the tractor shop remains, but that gives you an idea of where to look for that service if you decide you need it.

I have not been thrilled with any of the purpose built mini-starters for these engines, but would not hesitate to install a vortec starter, which is a smaller starter than the original it just doesn't have as much flexibility in mounting it as some of the mini-starters do.

I cannot help with heads at all. I'm not personally a fan of them, but that's just me.

Good info on the AC hoses, Rob. Also be sure to get the fittings that are crimped onto the hose "clocked" in the right positions, makes for much easier installation!

Somebody is gonna want that TBI motor, don't chop it up - you can sell it. Pretty hard to beat.
