A 4x4 6L80 from a 2016 Silverado w/ the L83 engine bolts right up to the NP208 transfer case. Same spline count and everything. Bolt pattern is the same too. LOKAR makes quite a few shifter options to get it right in there (column shift linkages, etc.) I went with their ESS - which is pretty slick. Speartech makes the tap shift and reverse lights module for it. I also had Speartech do the TCM tuning.

It becomes pretty pricey putting a 6L80 in after all the electronics and stuff.

Needs to be a 208 that was previously behind a TH400. That will be a 32 spline input. The TH350 and 700R4 ones were a 27 spline input and can still work if you get a 32 spline input shaft and swap it into the 208. All 6L80's have a 32 spline output.

Hey guys couple years late on reply but I just recently just swapped a 6.2L and a 6L80E trans in my 87 suburban and I love this setup good fuel mileage and doing 66 to 68 the rpms r at 1400 so the double overdrive is well worth it lot better than the dinosaur TH400 although they are reliable
