Black or White

White. Look I like black, and in general I'd say I like black more than white but not on a car or truck. You want to turn your truck into a hot box in the summer, pick black. I had one black car, and I'll never own another. I'm also not really much a fan of white because of it's ability to show dirt, but black is worse. Black sucks for function, even if you like the look. Have you considered a silver or a grey for your accent color? I'll bet Orange and silver would look pretty sharp.

I've only owned one white vehicle in my life, a 91 Z71, and you're right that it was cooler than dark colors.
But, it was also the only truck I ever owned that looked cleaner after it got rained on.

White paint and white wheels.

My 2004 Duramax is black; it sits outside so the paint on the roof deteriorated about 8 years ago, now the hood clear coat is whitening. The roof got hail damaged and since it sits outside it didn’t make sense to replace the roof panel. Instead, I figured I could spray black bed liner on the roof to cover the hail and stiffen it up. I had a body shop spray some high end bed liner on the roof 2x now, it only lasted about 18 months each time before it started cracking and lifting. I think that panel is too thin so it expands and contracts a lot so the material doesn’t hold up. This last time it cracked, I brush painted it with POR 15 (UV type) and that has actually been holding up pretty good. It would be nice if it was parked inside especially since it only has 50k on it and I don’t plan to buy another new truck. Agree, black gets alot hotter than all other colors and deteriorates faster.

My wife currently has a white minivan. It's the one and only vehicle we have ever bought new and we did so in 2005. We picked white over black because of the heat thing. If I had realized white is nearly as bad as black where it comes to showing dirt, we probably would have gotten a different color. I briefly had a silver vehicle and man silver is really good at hiding how dirty it really is. And then my Dodge pickup is silver and red. I like silver and light grey as a substitute for white, it doesn't look as good but I like it not staining and showing dirt so badly.

I'm partial to orange and white

I’d say white BUT either the roof or the lower. I like how “shorty” did his with the white rims and roof , purdy sweet to the eyes!

My preference would be a patina truck. Just weather what you already have.

Hey, In my humble opinion that's a no-brainer ! Do it in orange and white. Also, I would suggest an off white like a cream color would compliment nicely with the orange. I'm an old guy and love two-tone. Did my last truck a 1984 Silverado LWB K10 in Apple Red and Frost White. Cheers!

Sounds like the guy is trying to make his truck look nice, not celebrate the fact that it looks weathered and old. I will never in a million bajillion years understand the patina thing. Rusty old vehicles with bad paint look like junk. If that's what you're running then fine it is what it is, but if you really like your truck and are in a position where you have the money/skill to restore it and make it look nice and new, why would any sane sound and sober person choose to leave it looking crappy???

This is one example of why you would want to leave it "crappy". Painted stuff is so generic and boring 95% of the time. It took Mother Nature and the truck 80 years to look like this. This one has some human help as well.

Also I'm not against fresh paint and being clean. Body work is stupid expensive and takes a long time, then you have to worry about keeping them nice. I have a hard time with my clean 90's chevys and I get real upset when they get damaged in any way, I couldnt imagine a restored older vehicle. I had a paintless door ding and was quoted at $1200 dollars. Thats one ding?!!
