The wiring for a ‘76 would have the right tank as main and the left as auxiliary. It also uses a simple Pollack valve (either 3 or 6 port) for fuel, with only one power terminal to make it switch. Later trucks made the left tank the main, and used a 6 terminal fuel valve.

IIRC, the gauge sender wires on my ‘75 are tan, not pink. The main tank sender uses a tan wire and the other is tan with a white stripe.

Are they perhaps a faded pink that turned to a tan-ish color?

I have connected my sending unit wire to both Tan with White Stripe and Tan ( Maybe Pink Faded wires ) one at a time and it goes all the way to the 3 o’clock position.. am I doing something wrong?.. The wires I have on the driver's side are the following ..Keep in mind this is going to be the tank I use and there is no gas in the tank , I can hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn ignition.

Thick Red wire that runs all the way to the back
Blue
Light Blue
Pink maybe Tan
Pink With White Stripe ( Could be faded tan)
Green

On passenger side there is one Tan wire with a white stripe leading to front of Truck ...

Am I missing something?..I checked the ground...Thaks In Advance

My ‘80 with dual tanks is a pinkish/tanish wire. It’s here on the bulkhead IIRC:

You must be registered for see images attach

ETA: looking at my notes I may have it pinned in the wrong spot, I think it should be in the hole above that.

With factory stuff it should only hook up one way... My factory sending unit wire had a kinda unique plug on the end.

Yes, through the bulkhead & to the gauge. The rest of the dual tank wiring goes through the firewall in a different spot.

I'd like to know this as well. Previously, I have just scavenged and replaced the connector with an old used one.

Ive never pulled that connector apart, but this seems correct other than wrong application with the little pass through grommet. There's a couple other options in the related section.

I always thought mine were orange wires..
