Well, many months later I finally have the front end back together. Sanded and painted core support, grille, painted stripe in brightwork, polished brightwork, new emblem, installed nice used fangs, 0000 steel wool on the whole bumper assembly, new Silverstar headlights, LMC headlight harness with relays, new parking lamps and side markers and cleaned all under hood grounds. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the parking lamps. They just don't look period correct when lit. Will have to figure out what LMC sent me..... Edit: Swapped in a before pic.

In what way are the parkers not "period correct?" They appear a little dim, but that's probably the photo.

The shade of amber is wrong. It looks too orange. It wouldn't bug me, but I see what he's saying.

The amber is way off, but I believe that is the LMC bulbs. I think the lens is too clear? Maybe I'm just used to seeing all of them look "frosted" from age....

I’ll trade you a set of official period correct 37 year old parking lamps complete with working bulbs if yours are too new!

That’s what I said when I saw a 12valve under your hood! If I had needed to do an engine, there’s about a 90% chance it would have been a 12valve!
(7mpg on premium is not cool….)

Wire cupped these old school 15" alloys a little yesterday.
They still need some work before I can start with finer/detail paint removal, but they are getting there.
The black paint that the PO sprayed on them was flaking pretty terribly.
The driver side wheels are still black.

I kept putting off buying them just in case the perfect winch and winch bumper appeared. That's what I really wanted but I also fear I would over use The Old Truck if I did that.
Here's what you need for that 4x4. Get it with the shackle mounts too. I have the shackle mounts and they are crazy heavy duty. Perfect mounting point for a tow bar if you ever needed to flat tow your square too.

As odd as it looks with the worlds smallest tires, there’s something about the look of this truck I just love ever since I seen you post it up a few years ago!
