How bad does putting the 6x9’s in the corners behind the seat drown out the sound?
It won't. The speakers are fairly well points and sound will come through the sides.

@1980_L7 , don’t know how old you are but my kids system is plenty clear even for an old deaf guy. Now if you are looking for premium music quality, don’t think the square body is the “premium “ sound environment for such listening.
That said several guys on here have high quality systems and have provided great info on specific wiring techniques to prevent audio clarity loss. I’m sure with some research, you will find those threads.
Lots of great stereo info here…

This $hit pisses me off, take a look at Sly's boxes he purchased back in 21 when Brothers owned Brothers and the set I bought now that Holley owns Brothers and waited over 2 months for on top of it... Now I gotta pay my upholstery guy prolly another hundred clams to make mine look like Sly's who likely paid less for his in finished form than I did for my 2 pieces of sheet metal they sent me, jus sayin'

Ours were black sheet metal and that was the look E wanted. Fit perfectly and really did not need mounting screws as the are snug in the corners.
I see what you’re saying if the back area is carpet that would look cheesy pain white …..

My 6x9s are in home made boxes sitting magnet down on the little shelf behind the seat, and angled toward the dome light, so the sound isn't pointed to the back of the seat.

We did not use any mounting screws as the fit so snug into corners they don’t move. Been installed about 3 months now and still solid no movement

Called tinworks today. Guy told me to use double sided tape instead of a self tapping screw
