If the shifter you’re talking about has the sheetmetal bracket that uses the round holes on the side of the case, and 2 extension housing bolts, use something else!!!

I did a sbc/4L60 swap on a 99 S-10, the owner bought that shifter. I didn’t like it at all. Very vague as to what gear it’s actually in, and the cheap Allen head bolts stripped very easily.

I don’t really want to rain on anyone’s parade, I just didn’t care for that shifter at all. In all honesty, I would have preferred that column shifter over that piece of crap.

Hey Matt that's what the case mount looks like, super solid and linkage shift which is awesome... I had a B&M Megashift ? Cable type shifter in a square years ago and it sucked pond water...

Anyway the assembly is simple, my concern is hitting my mark cutting a hole in my perfectly good floor... No margin for error either using their boot ring assembly....

Measure twice & cut once Sir... Cut the hole as small as possible to fit the linkage through and expand it a little if needed.

If you're really scared to cut a hole mock the mount plat on the trans and scribe where the hole will be on the bottom of the pan. Drop the trans out of the way and drill either a small (1/8" - 1/4") centering hole or a small hole at each corner. Go back up top and make sure its where you want it & get to cutting or hole sawing.

That looks like what was in the S-10.

I had a B&M mega shifter in a 85 cutlass, it worked pretty well. That’s the limit of my experience with B&M.

Hurst makes kick ass shifter. It’s hard to beat a Quarter stick.
