Thought I’d post in case any of the local PNWers are going. If so, I’d like to say hi. Maybe a burger and a beer. No true need that I have, but thought it would be good to go down and roam for a bit. Anyone going? It’s in May I believe. Feel free to respond here or send me a message. Or if you have any spare parts, throw them in your vehicle- might be an opportunity to share amongst ourselves. Perhaps @Soundmound @Grit dog or @SirRobyn0 will be there? Rock on fellers and fellettes.

I hadn't heard of it but will put it on my radar. Am planning to go to the PIR swap meet March 30th maybe. Long drive to look and maybe get lucky on a part or two.

You will find way more than you need at the PIR swap meet.
I know we find all kinds of stuff that includes what we were looking for and stuff that just finds us.

Monroe is to far north for me though.

When is the Monroe swap meet? I go past the Evergreen state fairgrounds all the time but don't really pay attention. I haven't been in many, many years mostly because I tend to spend money on stuff I don't need... I'd gladly meet with any of you if I'm around that day.

I've met @Soundmound Dave, I've met Brian, IDK what his screen name was anymore and I don't see him posting anymore. I wanna meet the rest of you locals (not going to tag ya'll, but @Grit dog, who I've been promising to meet him "one of these days" for literally months now (sorry) but @Catbox you are on that list but understand, I use to drive to Portland a few times a year and always grabbed a hotel room at Oxford on Janzten beach / Hayden island, back when it was affordable. It use to be a really nice area but I've heard they have quite the homeless problem on the island now, but I digress.

And @idahovette who (understandably) I'm sure won't want to drive over from Idaho.

Some kind of meet up like an easy burger joint would be fun, if I can swing the date.

@SirRobyn0 Was just up almost in that area this past weekend for our G-Daughter's softball games. We were in Lacey Friday eve, Saturday all day, and Sunday til her games got over at 1:30 or so. Then we booked for home! Always wanted to go to that swap meet, heard good things about it. Hard for me to walk any distance any more with my Back problems. The driving distance isn't really a problem for me, I drive for the joy of driving, it's what I really like to do!! Some places are more enjoyable to end up at, but it's still the drive that I like!!.....AND, I'm gonna do it a long as I can!!!!!

I'm right there with you my back is ok but the my joint issues (overwhelmingly the capsulitis right now) really limits my standing at the moment.

Even when we don't have the time to meet up and gosh I'm always so busy, I really enjoy hearing about your trips over here. How were the passes? Did you guys just grab a motel / hotel room for the nights?

I've gotta do a feed run for the farm pretty soon up to Bow, Wa (Bellingham area) and hoping to have the time to take little side trip and do some recording for the "take a ride with me thread" hopefully. We'll see if that works out.

@SirRobyn0 The trip up Friday was a b!tch thru Baker City, snow, and thru LaGrande, more snow. Only for about a total of 10 miles, though. We were worried about the Blue Mountains, between LaGrande and Pendleton, but it was clear and around 35-38 degrees. Followed I-84 into Troutdale(Portland) and took I-205 into Washington, then up I-5 to Lacey WA. Stayed at the Quality Inn in Lacey, just off the Freeway. Pretty much a straight shot to the ball fields. down Martin Way, right on Marvin Road to the complex. Coming home Sunday, great weather and light(Daylight Savings Time) til we got back to Baker City, then about 5 miles East of Baker, we ran into about 10 miles of THICK FOG, like 30 MPH fog. Luckily it cleared and back to 75-79 mph. Left Lacey around 2:30 Weiser time and got home at 9:30 pm. Stopped in The Dalles for a bite and then at the Love's truck stop, West of Pendleton, for fuel. It was a good trip, Macie, G-daughter had a great series, 3 Home Runs a couple of Doubles and 13 Runs Batted In over the 4 games they played. Hit 7 for 11 with a couple of walks thrown in. The Team won all 4 they played and they were all 5 inning games instead of the regulation 7 innings because of the 8 run mercy rule. Was a little chilly, little wet, and a little breezy, but my Bride and I had our rain jackets with hoods, chairs with our harbor Freight moving blankets, that we use for wind break and heat containment along with our propane canister powered heater. We were warm, dry, and excited watching the games. It was GREAT!!!! Sorry for the letter, but DAMN , it was fun to watch her!!! Also on another note, I picked up and old Sun Scope from a guy in Walla Walla, weekend before last. Not the cabinet it sat on, just the top scope part. He had it listed on CL for FREE, come and get it, so I did. Really nice fellow, had a Radiator shop In Walla Walla, retired now. We plan on cleaning it up and putting it in our Automotive room in the local Museum. I will try to post some pics when we get it set up!

May 20th and 21st...I'll be there, just look for the guy with a beard, in jeans, wearing a hat.
@SirRobyn0 and gang, came here to post this. Thanks for posting the date!

I’ll likely be there on the 21st when the gate opens. If any of ya will be there that day, let me know! Y’all are pretty cool and I’d like to meet ya.

So basically your saying you'll look like everyone else? Just giving you a hard time. I'll check to see if I'll be around that weekend.

Congratulations to your granddaughter! She sounds like quite the killer!

I always hated that fog over there TBH- if it’s right around freezing, you can’t tell if the concrete is wet or iced. I thought it was wet once, but the temp had dropped and suddenly noticed the rear end of my Jeep starting to drift - that was the end of doing the speed limit that day. That was around Pendleton and I was heading north to the I-90.
