Inexpensive cup holders?

Hi all. I'm looking for a cup holder that goes at the front of the bench seat, and sits on the floor. Not one that plugs into the slot for the ash tray. I was thinking maybe I could just buy something like this, and alter it a bit so it would stay in place:

I would just buy something like this and alter it, but that price is laughable for a cup holder:

Check out pontoon boat cup holders. Theres some fancy nice ones out there.

I used a short piece of 3" pvc pipe with a flat truss plate base, not pretty but 100% functional.

These are pretty cool if you want your truck to look factory. You could easily stealth these and nobody would know they were there because they fold up when not in use. Mount them to something near the bottom of the bench seat:

I have 2 mounted to the front and 2 mounted to the back of the center console in my suburban. I have a couple more I plan to mount on the side panel next on each side of the third seat. the colors seem to match the GM color schemes well. I have grey on my grey interior and they look like they could be factory. I did add some thin rubber pads in the bottom to limit the noise from cups rattling around.

Do they seem durable to you? Do they withstand years of use?

I've had them installed for about a year. they don't get heavy use, but I think they seem fairly durable. I like that they are out of the way when not needed.

They are made for boats and even thogh they are a little flimsy they hold cups while bouncing over waves so they should be strong enogh. I've installed them on many boats and they are great because they are out of the way when not in use.

Even though I just spent 4 grand on tires and wheels, can’t bring myself to spend $200 on cup holders…..
Maybe different if it was a daily driver. But fwiw, the 2 cup holders that plug into the ashtray are “only” $35 at LMC I believe is where I bought it. Or purse with the state of WA and fed ex getting their share it was more like $55 total.
Works great but won’t hold anything bigger than a standard size can or beer bottle. And IMO the ashtray hinge and return spring in the ashtray hinge aren’t strong enough to hold 2 full longnecks on a bumpy road for very long and it sagged down way below flat or level just under its own weight.
I reinforced it by “hanging” it from one of the dash screws with a strap.
Not bulletproof but takes the stress off the still nicely working ashtray hinge.

Would I buy it again? Solid maybe.

A little much but I needed to mount the EFI and the 4L80e controller also it’s paddle shift plus speakers.
