Howdy! That's a really cool truck and I love the color combo!

The 465 is a darn good transmission. I've owned many, and what I currently have. That is a rare color combo. There is a truck just like yours that shows up at the square body reunion at Richmond In. I think it's an old Forest service truck. Really cool!!! JMO, the steel wheels and caps look really good.

Yeah, this one:

I don't recall seeing it there this past year though.

Here is the interior. New carpet, had a local guy reupholster the seat, Bluetooth classic stereo, cluster refresh. Other than the 3 sticks now sticking through the floor, it’s original.
Saweet!!!

That makes the second truck I’ve seen on the internet with that color combo. Cool!

Very solid looking truck. I have an '84 K1500 that's had that same transmission and transfer case swapped into it. Like yours, it still has the automatic shift lever on the column. I often grab it out of habit, even though it's had a manual in it since I've had it. The color scheme is different but neat, but I'm also a sucker for factory green trucks of all varieties.

Yeah me too, I’m planning to cut the auto shift lever down to about 2 inches long, paint it black, and leave it. That way I can drop it into gear if I leave it somewhere questionable it’ll hopefully fool the would be thief. Still need to figure out how to run the wires for the reverse light switch. Not sure if it’s the green/green white. Or the purple/purple white.

I like the long bed on 4X4 's. Just looks tough.
Welcome from KC.
I've always found long beds to look more "balanced" and I've also found that the extra 2 feet is far more useful than what people give it credit for. I've never understood the hatred people have for them.

Those people never had to use a truck.

That interior looks fantastic @whiskeydents . I'll have to learn who the local guy is since I live just a little north of Granite Mountain. My K15 is 11 years newer but yours is in much better shape. Nice rig.

The shop is in Chino Valley, behind Lantana Plaza.

Yeah I swapped the steel wheels and caps on it right after I got the motor back in it earlier this year. And yeah, I have only found one other truck With this color combo, not my favorite but it’s not bad.
Welcome to the forum!
I am the same way. I want to paint my truck, but thinking about just keeping a coat of wax on it, or just clear coating it so it retains its factory paint.
I initially was not fond of the tan / cream color my truck is but the occasional coat of a polymer "wax" that lasts, keeps it shinny and even with all the flaws makes it look pretty good I think.

I agree with this thinking. Whenever I've had a smaller truck (Dakota) it wasn't the narrower bed that bothered me the most it was the missing length....

I always thought the 7 foot bed on the old Jeep Comanche was nearly perfect for a little truck.
