I’m just looking for a little bit of levity on this one. We have probably all come across funny sales pitches in project truck listings, so I figured I would try to see what others have found funny.

I was looking at a listing today of a truck that has been taken down to the frame with metal work done, and then hastily put back together for sale. The quote, of course: “the hard work has been done.” Anybody who has done any finishing body work knows this isn’t true.

Other great quotes

“it’s in primer, all it needs is final paint.”

“Engine runs great…smokes a little”

“tires are *** (many) years old but have lots of tread.”

“Vin mismatch” is one of my other favorites.

What else makes you chuckle because it hints at a world of financial or labor hurt for the buyer?

Guaranteed to find some household twist connectors
Hey!!! My K20 had a few wire nuts in service when I bought it. They've since been removed and replaced with soldered connections.

I bought my truck knowing it had been hastily slapped together for sale, but I still get surprised from time to time.

Up in Maine, I see all the time listing for square bodies that say “rust free for the year” or “ rust free for Maine” or. “Just did rockers, cab corners floors etc, it’s rust free”
Also, every rotted out square up here that has pictures and the body is literally more rust than metal the ad always says, “ frame is mint or solid”

Or how it’s a “rare” square body because it’s a 4 speed or something trivial like that.

“Rust great, just needs carb work”
“brand new Mr. Goodwrench motor” they haven’t made Mr Goodwrench for at least 10 years now.

Another truck that I called for I was asking questions, and the guy said "theres no VIN". I said :you mean no title?" He said, "that too, but theres no VIN either"

And one time I asked what engine a truck had, and the guy said it had an "8"

My kid bought an Acura that had a Honda B motor swapped into it.

Didn't even have wire nuts. They twisted the wires together and wrapped them with scotch tape.
