Been a PITA to get anything done this year as I dont have a truck to use. Needed to get my cab to the soda blaster for over a month now. Had a friend tell me his dad just picked up a small trailer and said I could use it. Left early to avoid school buses - fella had it done around noon so again, little traffic. As soon as I got it home it got drenched in some zinc-phosphate. Still got some old seam sealer to dig out.

I love the cart. Gave me an idea that hadn't occurred to me - build out of lumber!

Cab looks great

cleaning up under the hood I forgot about this. I'm pretty sure it's for cruise. It runs into the cab below the brake booster. The question is what does the hose go to in the dash?

Thanks :)

Thats actually my second try at it. I used 2x6's, 3" deck screws and reinforced the corners with 3/4" plywood. The wheels are 8" and mounted with lag bolts. What actually holds the cab on is the support in the back. The first version was 5" wheels and 2x4's. The wheels pulled out on one corner and the wood cracked. Fugly.

If the weather warms up a bit in the next few days, I'm going to pick the cab up with a cherry picker so I can epoxy prime and undercoat the cab. I'll get a pic of the dolly empty so it makes more sense. But it rolls REALLY smooth and easy.

Started getting the gauges and instrument panel ready to go. I wish the odometer was accessible so I can clean all the numbers. The circuit board should be here tomorrow. Started filling the '77 with cardboard from this project. Should be full by next weekend.

That hose likely goes to the brake switch or a vacuum switch next to it.

I don't have a garage to work in so I would really like to finish it before the cold, wet, weather gets here. The drawback is the exhaust. This truck originally came with a Y-pipe connected to the headers, and a single muffler/exhaust pipe terminating back behind the driver's side rear tire. Someone in the past pulled it all out and installed two separate exhausts with resonators instead of mufflers. WAY TOO LOUD!!! The tail pipes on both sides end about 6" in front of the rear tires, and are pointing right at the tires. The exhaust on the passenger side is sitting against the transfer case. Half of all the hangers are broken, and some areas have wire being used as hangers. The Y-pipe has been hard to locate. It doesn't ship out until (hopefully) October 16th from Summit Racing. The intermediate pipe is no longer available so I'm going to have to make something work. Possibly a flex pipe, or taking it to a muffler shop and have them make one. I want to take it back to original as much as possible. I'm able to get a lot done because it's real slow at work, and I have enough money in the bank to do it.

Did some small things this weekend as most of the time was spent on the Mrs daily, changing struts and sway bar links for the third time this year (Yes, it's a Ford, but my fault for buying the wrong parts).
Managed to get the rear view mirror and new high beams installed on the 'burb. Had to disassemble the connectors and clean things up as they were a bit loose. Drove it to a couple of part stores looking for a 21mm wrench and noticed that it stumbles a lot when you let off the gas - never dies, figures itself out after a couple of seconds, unless you give it more than about 15% throttle to save waiting. Also has a pretty hard miss when up to temp. There's a breather grommet in the valve cover that's piped the intake that's hard as a rock and the pipe won't go in so figure I'll start there and begin chasing vacuum leaks? It's a stock 90 tbi truck so any pointers on the stumbling would be welcome.

Last night I got a few mins to piddle around a bit.
I removed the bed box out that the last guy had bolted in.
I finally got the Bench seat bolts and seat itself out.

I've been sanding and painting rally wheels, trying to figure out my spongy break issues and my headlights dont work but the driving lights do. A little time in between work and deer season but i'll get it all eventually. Suck at wiring or electrical.

Morning session:
I had some bubble wrap at the shop that was left over from a project so I was wondering how good it would look in the cab of my SB. Might provide minimal soundproofing and insulation, right? LOL. Started refreshing the grill. The inner sections are graphite peel-coat, and the outer trim will be metallic silver.
