Cab swap will it fit?

Im doing a frame off complete bolt resto on a 86 k10 the firewall was trash so I knew a guy with a cab and swore it would fit. Its a 88, 1 ton, 2wd, he claimed it would work with a 4wd on the half ton. The problem is the center floor hump but he said it was a 1 ton and would work but if it where a half ton 2wd will not work. Can anyone confirm that it will work or am I out $$?

the floor hump 'kinda' goes like this.

4wd will always have a high hump. (transfer case)
2wd manual trans will have high hump. (manual trans)
2wd auto trans will have a low hump. (nothing there needing a high hump)

so this issue is driveline rather than 1/2,3/4,1ton really.

Just use pieces of the old floor to make your new floor like the old floor used to be. Make sense? Lol.

On older trucks like my ‘75 K25 the hump is a bolt in panel. You could cut the floor area out of your old 4WD and do the same with the new cab.

How stock are you trying to get? I've heard these 1" body pucks will raise a 2WD floor enough. You may call ORD. They are the expects on Square Bodies.

So the new cab I have has a hole cut out in the hump, obviously for stick shift. So what I'm understanding is that its a manual transmissions 2wd cab it will work on my K10 (other then cutting another hole for the 4wd shifter).

Possibly it will fit without modification. However, the center hump extends further rearward on a 4x4 cab, compared to the 2wd manual trans hump. BUT! In those late year trucks, I believe they often have the 4x4 style floor pan.

Update: The 88 1tom 2wd cab fit perfect, all I have to do is cut the hole for 4x4 shifter.
