I have a question...
Are you losing the sound from the port to the inside of the bed with this set up?
I am not a huge ported box fan and have only ran a couple of them for short times. I never liked the noise from the port air itself.

I love big bass! I have a 12" Kenwood sub in a vented box in the trunk of my camaro. Kenwood 1300w amp pushes it really good. Sounds great with the stock stereo. But like all things after a while you want more.

Only problem is my spare is in the trunk. It's a pain to get to it now as I have to unhook the box and remove it when I get a flat. I've had two in the 3 years I've had it. Lol

Tbh I'd like to put 2 15's in it. But, I'd have to remove the back seats and have my buddy(who owns a stereo shop) build me a custom box. Only problem there is if you need to sell your car after doing that.

That being said, I don't really want to ever sell it. As I don't want a newer car. I'll keep my square and this one till I die probably. Can't see why not. So what a dilemma. Sure not in a rush to do it.

You can do as you wish no disrespect. I must say though I had a very similar system with 4 x 15" subs laid down in a deep v in the bed much like your box. It was cut through the cab and bed of my Toyota mini-truck and had a gasket sealing out the weather. It was dressed up with a mdf cover. Truth? It was obscenely loud, broke the sunroof, but was so impractical. I grew to hate it, I was daily driving it though.

The port is on the front of the box and also goes into the cab. You still lose sound if the port isn't in the same space (cab) as the speaker cone.
EDIT: looking back at this post, I see the box was the first stab at this where the port was on the side of the box. That was revised and a new square port was made that came out the front into the cab. There's a thread on here somewhere.

Yes, mine is obscenely loud. But it has a volume control. More importantly is the sound quality I'm after. That takes power. The system is one of the main reasons it's my daily driver over my 21 GMC.

Yeah I don't need it that loud. Two 12s might suffice. Like I said no rush so have plenty of time to figure out what I wanna do. I'll get with my buddy who's much better at this than me to come up with something that I like.

During our trip to C10s in the Park in Texas last weekend, we stopped at Shorty's shop (painter from Iron Resurrection) and he had a square in there with a mild sound system in it with dual 6" subs in a ported box behind the seat. It certainly wouldn't win any competitions but I was blown away at how clean the sounded and they probably hit as hard and as low as the 12s I've had in old trucks. I can only imagine what this setup would sound like lol

Viola!
I probably read the other post as well.
Good to see I wasn't thinking the wrong thoughts again...
