I used a wire wheel on the rust spots and treated them with rust treatment. After it dried, I put a coat of paint over the entire floor. Should receive the mat and sound liner this week.

Decided to paint the gauge needles with fluorescent orange, and the interior of the mount with white. Makes everything easier to see, especially at night.

I'm sure once I get it back on the road I'll find issues with the engine and drive line. I always told my kids "if you don't love it, don't buy it".

Installed new door striker bolts and reinstalled the drip rail molding over the doors. 26 items left on the to-do list. Currently at $2100 in purchases.
Wow, man! You’re really gettin after it right out of the gate here. Looking good!
(And the right color…lol)

RIP the 5 year old Rural King battery yesterday. :confused:

Had to give her a battery charger jump yesterday morning, but started fine at the doctor's office.

Drove to the transmission shop as the TCC is not currently working- we are pretty sure the solenoid in the pan is gone.

Well, the battery gave up the ghost.

So, not what I did , but what I had done as she now has a OReallys super start battery installed by the transmission guy.

Yesterday morning was the 1st inkling of an issue then buh bye ...

Installed tail gate bumper stops and adjusted the catch assemblies. No more rattle and the hinges aren't catching against the body lip anymore. The PO definitely didn't know anything about repairs, or replacing things that were taken off. At least he kept everything in a box.

I only have about 10 hours of work for the next two weeks and the parts start coming in on Tuesday. I'm going to work more hours on my SB than on air conditioners, which is good, because once the cold weather, rain, and snow hit I'm done until Spring.

Earlier this year, while I was away from my work, my Square suffered an incredible indignity - while parked, a Kenworth pulling an equipment trailer turned a corner waaaay to tight.
Lucky for the driver, my Square protected the building by using itself as a shield for the business.
The Square was dragged about fifteen feet and pinched into the building BIG TIME.

The driver's side of the box was crushed and the passenger front was pushed in. The brand new rear bumper from LMC was turned into a large chrome pretzel.
Damage report:
Rear bumper - ruined
Front bumper with new air dam - ruined
Box, driver's side - crushed at rear and warped
Frame - rails under the box are both bent
Driver's-side tail lamp - vaporized

That was the first week of June. As I work full time and normally end up working an additional twelve to twenty hours a week overtime, I haven't had much time to perform repairs. As of today, here is what I have completed:
-Stripped down a wrecked short box Square (the box is punky, yet will serve for now)
-Installed four inch drop rear mounts and shackles, transferred the original differential (which I just rebuilt with a new posi case, 4;10s and rear disc brake kit)
-Transferred the entire front cradle (which I literally had just installed three-inch drop spindles, new upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower ball joints and all steering linkage)
-Welded up a new transmission crossmember (the one I purchased was not even close to working)
-Transferred the front and rear cab mounts, both fuel tank mounts, everything sandblasted and reinstalled
-Transferred the original wiring harness, as the harness that was on the short box was rife with old repairs
-The cab went on Friday after work; it took three hours to have the body lines set where they should be, and this morning, the rad support and front fenders went on before heading off to a BBQ.

The steering column will need to be rebuilt, as the incident snapped off the column locking provision. Will also need to install the headers and exhaust.

This was what my few available weekends and time before and after hours have been filled with.

Edit: Thrashed from Friday afternoon until ten, then back at it all weekend. Just need to hook up the rear tail lamps, connect the brake lines, bleed, then install some exhaust and the driveshaft.
Interesting how I constantly complain I am too tall to fit in most vehicles and too thick in the chest to fit under a Kenworth without squeezing (no floor creeper either,) yet I will lower a pickup truck and still forget it needs to be on blocks for every job underneath it.

On the dually, started the project of replacing both gas tanks, sending units, fuel filter, and the module that switches between tanks this weekend. Mainly doing this because the sending unit on the driver side was getting weak so figured might as well replace the whole shebang and call it good. Go about 90% the way through the driver side replacement between a few hours yesterday and an hour or so today. Will knock it out litte by little this week and hope to have it all complete by the end of next weekend. Also replacing the rubber hose that goes from the hard line to the sending unit as that original rubber is pretty hard and brittle at this point.

Got the water pump, overflow tank, upper and lower radiator hoses, radiator cap, and new v-belts installed.

Haven't "done" anything to it other than drive it alot lately since gas is "cheap" and she's operational again. Ordered an LED headlight kit with 4 glass lens housings/bulbs/conversion harnesses and ordered new E-brake cables. After C10 Nats in Nashville, I'll install the E-brake cables, attempt to fix the oil leak again, redo my trans cooler (for the 3rd time :mad:) and generally check it over before I drive cross country to Dino's Git Down in November.

Been a PITA to get anything done this year as I dont have a truck to use. Needed to get my cab to the soda blaster for over a month now. Had a friend tell me his dad just picked up a small trailer and said I could use it. Left early to avoid school buses - fella had it done around noon so again, little traffic. As soon as I got it home it got drenched in some zinc-phosphate. Still got some old seam sealer to dig out.

Got the stat housing and stat, door weather strip (installed immediately), vent window weather strip, floor liner and mat, belt weather strip for the windows.
