Nice truck. Don't be worried about working on it. Just make a plan and get it done. Man built it, so man can fix it.
It wont take much to freshen it up. Do the standard stuff, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, belts. Oil change, trans service, check the diff. Maybe u joints. Grease up the suspension. Check the brakes. Basic maintainence stuff, and you will think it is a whole new truck, for not much money.

LMC has a exhaust system. I think Holley also might have a system?

I gave 2400 for my 87 GMC Sierra classic 4x4 V2500,with no rustor major issues, it had a few gremlins-fuel pumps, turn signal switch and good glass. I think 3500 would be about 1500 too much. washington truck here as well.

For me I want the interior to feel clean, regardless if I will be using it to haul stuff, I still like my cars to be really clean. The door panels are starting to disintegrate and the steering wheel is sticky. So replacing the things that are legit failing will be the goal, not to make it all shiny new. I like the way it smells too much lol
I'm glad you like the way it smells, I've been fighting a lingering stench in my '84 K1500. It sat abandoned for a good seven years before I bought it though; but yet it is still somehow cleaner on the inside than a lot of newer cars people drive everyday.

You folks up there are lucky in the used car market. Where I'm at, the truck you just described would sell for $8000 or more immediately after being listed.

Oh awesome, you’ve got the mystic too! Once I get the mechanical stuff addressed I’ll be doing the interior, which I’m so excited to refresh! Thanks for the pic
I have a 1980 K25 Sierra Classic with the Gray/White Mystic interior also. The only place I have ever seen sell the Mystic interior panels is USA1. I have the original set of manifolds pulled off my truck when I put the new motor with headers on last year. You are welcome to just have them if you are going to be in the Salem, Or area at some point. I would also suggest joining a local squarebody group like "PNW K5's & Squarebodies" on facebook. Lots of guys on that group are local to you and I'm sure someone has a set of manifolds sitting around that they wouldn't mind getting rid of. There's also a member on there(Jon Addington) that is a dealer for weatherstripping, specializing in early chevy stuff, and is in the Vancouver area.

This was my thought as well. $2500 isn't a bad price, but $3500 is too much. I bought mine back in 2018 or so for $850, but it wasn't running/driving since it had been parked in the backyard for about 12 years. Had they taken the time to flush the fluids and put new fuel line on it(which is all I did when I got it home), they would have had a driver to sell and likely could have gotten 2k or so for it. The prices have really gone up on a lot of this stuff, but in the PNW it's probably the lowest resale value square you can have to be a C25 pickup. Theres just a way bigger market for Blazers/Suburbans and 4x4 trucks up here and they made more of the C20's than just about any other one it seems.

Sadly it’s a much different used car market than it was even 4 years ago, add inflation and gas prices to that…I think $2500 is completely reasonable. No need for 4wd here, I’m from colorado where it actually made sense b/c of the snow. What a lot of people seem to be into w trucks/cars just isn’t my thing…I’ll never understand the dropped shortbeds with the huge rims and I’m not a suburban/blazer fan…rode in too many on the way to soccer practice as a kid. Now maybe an OJ Simpson Eddie Bauer Bronco I could get behind!

Agreed, although the 4wd makes just as much sense here as it does in Colorado if you head up into the cascades at all, which I do. If nothing else, it lets me not need to put chains on just to go over the pass, since I have 4wd and mountain snowflake rated tires. I've also had to use my 4wd more than once to get into some of the hunting camp spots with my trailer. While I probably wouldn't need it to get there without the trailer behind it, the extra weight makes it impossible to get up some of these hills without putting it into 4lo.

If you are staying mostly around town and on major roads, there is definitely no need for 4wd around here though. Either way, I think you got a great truck for a good price. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Get it! Get it! Do whatever it takes. Look at that big bench seat, just Ready for Love! Is that a CB radio?? Charcoal, and it *IS* a longbed, right?

You can live in this truck. You should. It will treat you better than any woman ever has.

She is singing to you...I expect it goes something like this:

I just watched this video. Wow, she is sex on a stick. Had to make sure my wife wasn't looking over my shoulder, so I didn't get a bop to the head!

Now, any update on the truck purchase?
