I rebuilt it and ended up selling it to a friend that does mud bogs. I got used to the 3.08 gears. Much nicer cruising RPM for the highway.

Well the bad VIN throws up a bunch of red flags. I wouldn't touch it just for that reason. It makes it look to a potential buy like you are hiding something, or it is stolen.

The chances you finding someone that would know that the VIN doesn't match the frame....slim.

It is my opinion it is a good looking truck, you have done a lot of work to it...drive it and enjoy it. You will never get out of it, what you have in it. Most people see it is a longbed, with ding and dents, bad rubber, bad floors, it's multi colors, no A/C...if you find the right person, and the stars are in alignment, you might get 7500 here in Texas.

People don't care about how long it took to build, what you have in it. All people see is the stuff they are going to have to change. There is getting to be so many A$$ hats out there, that want to buy the truck of their dreams, and than get mad or run down the truck because you didn't build your truck the way they wanted.

Yep. That's how I feel about it and was suggesting selling it as a parts truck. I actually went through the effort of having DMV run a search for the VIN as well as having my cop friend do a search for the cucv VIN. DMV search says it has never been titled. Police search has conflicting info of never being titled and being "rendered destroyed". There are ways to get a new VIN here in VA with the "Reconstructed, Specially Constructed, or Replica Vehicle" process. Or the cucv VIN can likely get a title with the "abandoned vehicle" process. I was going to do the abandoned vehicle route but I have an apartment so it's hard to claim someone left the truck on my land.

One time I had a k5 that had a questionable title that didnt really match the vin

(I was much much younger)

I cut every lick of rust out of it, welded in new sheet steel, painted it, gave it a new 6" lift, 40" tires, tossed the ****** eddy 750 that was on the 350 and put a holley 600 on it, it ran and drove great, but when it came time to legalization, I had the option to do the abandoned title, contact some people I know in CA for "another title" (sketchy stuff) or some mechanics title sheit.

Suffice it to say, I had to let her go, and traded it off.... what a total waste that one was.

To this day,
If the title doesn't match the vin, and your license in your wallet doesn't match what's on the title, I'm walking. No two ways about it, I wouldn't care if it was an all original 1969 Camaro for 500$ with 5,000 on the clock. (My favorite car)

Not happening.

So my good friend has this truck, and he was pondering selling it, and was wondering 1, how much it might be worth in today's market, and 2, if theres anyone in the Georgia area that would be interested in buying it.

84 GMC Seirra Classic K1500, 350, 2 speed Powerglide, Np205, 6 lug 4x4.
Runs and drives no problem. LED headlights, some electrical work done.
Little bit of a beater DD, but in pretty good shape. Complete, No big dents, no rust, mostly orginal.
Drove from New Mexico to Georgia and it's still alive, so can't be too bad, haha.

Not a bad looking truck. Here in PA, that would be $7500+ considering it is rust free.

Did I read that correctly, Powerglide?

I was surprised to see the 2 speed bolted to a 205 as well. That truck would be half as much out here…$2500 as a non-original runner, maybe up to $5k if all the emissions stuff was intact and it’d pass smog.

Yes, our area is absolutely crazy. You simply can't find anything rust free and if you do, they demand premium prices. There are a number of dealers here that regularly buy trucks from your area and sell them here. I don't know if it is still as profitable with the current shipping costs, but it is still pretty common.

I don't know if you can open these links or not, but here are some examples of what is for sale in our area. (I apologize if I didn't place the links correctly)

Unfortunately, I can’t see those. I even tried creating a fb account last year with a fake name just to see marketplace. They knew right away and suspended my account. The name sounded like a normal name too. Maybe it was my VPN that tipped them off.

I'll attach a couple of screenshots of the ads. Sorry you can't open them.
