pic of ecm location and guessing battery on drivers side? AC original truck? Guessing you extended the harness if it's by the headlights. Need to clean mine up is why I ask.
Yep, I moved the battery to the driver's side when I swapped in the LS. It is an original AC truck, getting the AC integrated and working is next after I put the cooling system back together. But most of that on the driver's side is swap wiring, I've got a positive bulkhead and fuse box hidden right behind the core support down low that all of that goes to. Then the factory lighting harness. The little box you see is a circuit breaker, the battery tray bolts to/sits on top of that bracket and another closer to the radiator and hides the fuse box and everything down there.

Yeah but they can't find cores to rebuild. :(
Looked for weeks so I pulled the trigger on this one. I think they're having the same problem that's why it's being delayed.

wow, that's a problem I never would have expected to see. I see them come up all the time around here in the junkyards and on marketplace. Aren't you going fuel injected anyways? Why not a 4L60?

Welded a gas cap holder on the inside of the suburbans fuel door, tired of setting it on the tire or the ground, didn't want a tether on it really either. Just copied the 93's cap holder. Also got the 79 out for a fuel run.

I got all of my lights working (except headlights, have to replace the plugs on the wiring harness first) for the first time in over 10 years!
I really like how the amber lights look on this yellow truck.

May want to look at a headlight relay kit. Super cheap, more power to the lights, eliminates a big load on the OE electrical system and only re uses 1 of the factory plugs (as a trigger source for the relay).

well after a week or so off from the GMC, I was gonna pull itout of the shop from its winter work over. Aftere draining the transmission and welding a drain plug into the pan, while refilling the trans I discovered a anti freeze leak at the lower hose.it was a brand new hose with no miles on it.but somehow got a hole in it just below the clamp!! Unsolved mystery for sure. So with any luck I will get it fired up and pull it outside and have room in my shop again!!

Thought I'd try the citristrip on the cowl panel. Very minor brushing so far with a brush. Couldn't believe how it did when I came out this morning. I left it on for about 18 hours. Gonna clean off what I can and do the rest of it and let soak until tomorrow.

update on the cowl. Mentioned to my Dad who used to be into paint and body and now is doing soda blasting. Anyway he said load it up thick with remover then put plastic over it so it doesn't dry. I did just that overnight and everything came off today.

It worked so well that the underside needs to be done as its coming off.

Started winter by pulling the interior and polishing the visible interior paint back. Swapped in two new Spectra fuel tanks w/senders and painted the hanging brackets over the last couple weeks. Both received new rubber fuel lines and clamps along with new LMC necks, mounts, hardware, etc. Yesterday scrubbing the frame down from 38 yrs. of use and it looks purty good.

Looking good. Now's the time to change those rear shocks and spring bushings as well if the are due.

[edit] good time to change the rear diff fluid also. lol just thinking of anything and everything that can be done easier with the bed off..

Did you get those tanks from amazon? On a whim before I ordered elsewhere I checked amazon, the price was a few bucks more but with free shipping.

Yup like a year ago for $83 each. Been on hold due to work and winter. I was able to easily do it by myself though because I bought a bed lift and 2 ton hoist, all on sale of course.

Well after the winters work and the truck is outside, time to start on the interior. Anyone used any of the plastic paints with any luck?? Just got done spraying my door panels, guess we will see if its durable or not.
