I recently got a new DD, thanks to my brother @SK 99 upgrading to a fancier SUV. With the current cost of fuel and living 35 miles from work, it made no sense to drive my big block Suburban everyday.

It's from the south and oddly, it is 2wd. It has the full ZR2 suspension, just with a 2wd style NV3500 and there's no front diff or CV axles. Have you seen many of them down there?
I have NEVER seen a 2WD version. That’s very cool. Now you have me looking for one. Does it have the 4.3? @bucket

Yep, it has the 4.3 in it. I don't believe the 4 cylinder was available in ANY Blazer at all, but I didn't think they made a 2wd ZR2 either...

I have definitely without a doubt seen iron dukes in S10 Blazers, same as pickups.

Anyone else agree with me here at all?
Please tell me I'm not alone, haha.
I personally like the '83-'84 Silverado grille the best, though the round eye trucks can be stunning as well as long as the rest of the truck around it looks right as well. Simply having round headlights doesn't make or break the truck, it's a whole look that needs to be pulled off together IMO, and if done right can look way better than any post '80 truck. Personally I don't like my '87 grille all that much (though it's still a lot better than the 89+ imo). Also, never been much of a fan of the GMC grilles. On newer stuff I wouldn't be seen in a Chevy, even my '08 I'm glad it's a GMC because it's a little more "plain" and not all goofy like the Chevy is, especially with the brand new stuff from the last couple years, the bowtie front ends are pretty puke inspiring these days. But on squares, the GMC nose doesn't look terrible, I had an '87 longbed GMC that looked decent, but over the years they usually are a little more on the "boring" or "too plain" side for my taste. That top truck you posted is literally just 4 bulbs with 3 black rectangles inbetween, no egg crate or chrome strips or anything. Not an ugly look really, but yawn inspiring IMO.

I would have to say my all time favorite truck nose is a '71-'72 Chevy, no preference as to whether it has the black line or not.

Sorry, I meant in the '95-up years where it was just the 2.2 and 4.3 available.

I forgot all about the old iron duke Blazers though. What a miserable combination that was, especially as a 4x4. The 2.8 was a way better option, lol.

Definitely !

I like 70s squarebodys in general more than any of the 80s styles though.

I just got my dads old car back running again after sitting for a few years, and Im thinking of putting it back on the road to save gas.
1991 Honda CRX si manual. Last time I did the milage when it was running, it was running an average of 45-47 MPG running around town, but on a trip to Santa Fe once we recorded 61 MPG.
I have been dailying my 92 suburban, but last time I did the milage in that it was 10-11 mpg. Kinda rough on the wallet, but I love that truck.
I would much rather drive a big truck daily, I've had 7 of these NBS trucks and absolutely love them. But fuel is just killing me right now. I'm hoping the Camry will be gone soon (fixed or not, got a coworker interested) and I'll go find a Honda that gets 30+ to daily.

Might give an early 2000's Saturn stick shift a gander too. I had an ION for a couple of years and that little car was the best car I've owned. SUPER cheap, reliable and got great MPG. Just gotta make sure you get a stick shift because the autos in the Saturns are junk. Only reason I don't still have that car is due to an auto accident. You can find them for cheap and pretty clean because they are little old lady cars when they wanted to get good gas mileage and didn't wanna drive a bit land yacht around LOL
Not a bad thought and it's still a GM product so it'll be fairly familiar to work on

I worked with a guy who had two. One for his wife and one for him. He would pick up guys to car pool to work in his 4 cyl. Blazer. It went from 0 to 60 in 30 days with all four of us in it. We all laughed at how slow it was but it worked great in winter.

That's my truck.
Not making fun, just saying it's not exactly "exciting" looking. If that's your truck and you like it then I'm all for it, but personally I wouldn't find anything "favorite" about it. I love my '87, but the nose is certainly is not my favorite. Boy do I love my truck, but I wish the grille was a little cooler, that's why I'm swapping it once I do the rest of the body work.

Sorry to be ignorant, but what does NBS mean? "Not Broken Sh!t"? I too prefer my trucks to be in good working order...
