My 2009 Audi A4 does 0-60 in ~8.5 sec. and max speed on the German autobahn was 145mph. Nothing fancy but for a daily driver it's ok and very reliable.
But my fun cars are all really slow...K5..C20....66 impala with powerglide... 0-60: ages but I don't care :D

I had an idea.

Maybe a pretty good one - everybody in the website is invited .

We could have a site wide showdown IF

If we agreed on some kind of cell phone app that clocks e.t. - then we ALL could "virtually" drg race each other from across the globe and stuff, yeah?

There could be a site champion.
I believe that is a reasonable idea, don't you?
Screenshots instead of burning rubber loses luster yeah sure but it was only an idea.

Anyone know of some quality app to use? A GPS app or something? Virtual speedometer have drag race timers in them I'm certain.
That sounds like fun

I timed my 92 suburban in a flat out 0 to 60 sprint the other day. 39 seconds, with nothing inside except me and my tool bag.
Something wrong there - I bet with a few tweaks you get that down to 36 seconds easy peasy.

Is my c10 classified a DD?

It's currently under construction but does 50- over 100 in a couple seconds, haven't been able to time 0-60, traction unavailable

Hook up a couple more spark plug wires…
Haha. I have all new plugs and wires, and all hooked up. It has 302k miles, and still on original engine, transmission, and rear end with no work done. I don't expect much, its not a race car. Not bad for like 8k lbs and 30 years old.

And at the time the timing was a little bit off, and the spark control module box was malfunctioning. I should try it again.

I drove a friend's 1982 Volvo 240 diesel once. Had a 0-60 time of 8 flat.

Seconds?

No, days.

Hours.

I had an '80. My first car, and my last Volvo. Even with the 5 speed I think it was 18 seconds 0-60. But it got 35 MPG. Not bad for a car with a drag coefficient that didn't start with a decimal.

The other good thing about it,... well probably the only actual good thing, was it was a: too slow to get me in much trouble, and b: nearly invisible to law enforcement. It kept my driver's license relatively clean for a long time.

I have a couple different Daily Drivers and neither of them is really slow.

This one is actually pretty quick considering the size and weight:

This one is also considered "heavy" but is supposed to run around 10.92 in the quarter. I doubt seriously that I could get it to run that well but it still steps out pretty good.

Sorry 7 not 8.

That's what I was told it weighs by a friend and the internet. I have yet to bring it to the scrap yard and get it weighed.

I'm afraid to being it near that place, I'm afraid itll get mistaken as scarp and crushed while I'm not looking, haha.

See... 6800 to be exact, but 230lbs of me, a full tank of gas, 2 tool bags, a spare tire, and X wrench, and that's a bit over 7k, unless the ol intterwebs and my buddy are both lying.
I truthfully dont know.
