So it's a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited, so as you'd expect it's got the Chrysler 5.2 under the hood,
My friend is a huge Jeep nut and has had 2-3 of these.....I never heard of a 5.2 - all his had the 4.0 straight 6. I think his last one had almost 400k and the one he drives now he bought new in 99 has 300k. lol

Nice! How are you liking it?

I'm more than happy with mine. Got it last March and I've put almost 25k on it. Oil changes every 5k, just did the air filter, gonna have the diffs tranny & tcase changed next time it goes in.

current gas prices have me glad I didn't splurge on an f250 like I wanted to haha

Ya, It's just the standard Chrysler 5.2 (318) magnum engine, was in the limited's. I bought mine in the upper 200'ks, it's got 375K on it right now, the tranny is making some whinning noises from the pump now so I will have to decide what I want to do when that occurs.

So far, it has been excellent. I don't get to drive it much unfortunately. My kid has it most of the time.

Around here my daily vehicle choices are often referred as the "motor pool".
Motor pool, that's great. That's what my dad calls my back yard where I keep all my trucks.

Props I thought this thread would be like 95% yuppy plastic but it's probably less than 50%
Newest running thing I own is 97. I hate new cars.
Wife has a 2005 Chrysler, vehicles actually in my name newest is a 96. Like you I hate new cars. I live in the world of newer cars, all day at the shop I certainly don't wanna deal with that crap on my own time.

Here's one you might enjoy. I replaced the batteries on a 2017 Pacifica minivan today at the shop. This is a gas powered non-electric not hybrid vehicle. 2 batteries. One main and a secondary smaller battery.

Our summer DD and the latest year car I ever owned - a 2005. I think I'd go as late as a 2009, but after that, they get too goofy with the electricals and such.

I recently got a new DD, thanks to my brother @SK 99 upgrading to a fancier SUV. With the current cost of fuel and living 35 miles from work, it made no sense to drive my big block Suburban everyday.

I had an '03 ZR2 S10 Blazer back when it was like a 7 or 8 year old truck with ~100k miles on it. While better than a big block, I maybe got 14mpg mostly highway, wouldn't exactly call that a fuel saver. I had quite the commute when gas prices were a decent amount less than they are now, and I spent a good chunk of my paycheck on fuel.

Hah, when I had it I was amazed at how "crappy" I thought it was, but now sadly enough I do miss it quite a bit. I had some 31" KM2s on it and it was surprisingly unstoppable offroad even while otherwise stock, and was a ton of fun in the snow. Fcuker I sold it to let his girlfriend drive it and hit a tree a month or two later.

That thing is pretty clean, usually they're all rusted to sh!t the rare times you still see them on the road around here. It's so weird, these things used to be EVERYWHERE and now it's like they never existed
