I gotta give a big shout out to AyWoSch motors outta Sap-eh-yo NM (lmao, inside joke thanks Dawn!). Great company to deal with, this guy is outstanding! goes above and beyond with no need to! I had asked for the pair of front calipers off of his 78 parts truck for mine. I was simply expecting him to remove and chuck in a box but this guy pulls them, cleans and paints them bolts and all! Then for another extra step farther he shrink wraps each piece! Each caliper, each set of pads, and even the slide bolts!!! This guy is one fine upstanding young man!!! A billion thanks to @AyWoSch Motors for his exceptional help with the what will i be doing to my square shortly!

Thought I was done with my ventwindow resto the other day.Found out a drop of water was getting in between the glass and its seal at botton of glass.A touch of flowable silicone did the trick.Mineral spirits and razor blade cleaned up all the glass.The door glass had some old overspray on them,the razor/ spirits made them look about like new.

I am going to limit the pics this time but I drove mine to a small local car show. My truck is clearly not a "show quality" truck but the folks that like it really like it. I get some interesting conversations and it seems to make folks happy. My son, who is on the autistic spectrum, really enjoys these car shows and we put him in the Trans Am with his Parrain (Godfather) for the ride there and back.

The owner of this '86 told me that he purchased this truck brand new in 1986 and that he still uses it to pull a gooseneck trailer and his tractor on a bumper pull. It still had the dealership emblem from a dealership that has been gone and out of business for longer than I can remember.

Finally got a few hours to work on the truck today.
Finished sanding and polishing the hood. Can’t say there isn’t a few places I need to take the paper and polisher to again, but officially got the last piece done. Damn that clear got hard! I wet sanded the rest of the truck in about 8 hours, the day after I painted it. I got almost that long just on the hood!

I almost forgot that I also "installed" a swanky, new cupholder!

Behold!

Yeah, I am kidding. I stole that out of the Trans Am.

What I actually did was put in the LMC Truck cupholder and it works okay. I like the fact that it doesn't interfere with the shifter, I can still plug into my cigarette lighter with my GPS or a phone charger, and it can come out and I am completely back to stock in less than 15 seconds and that it works okay with a normal bottle or can. It is too small for my HydroFlask and larger bottles or cups but anything is better than nothing.

@Redfish , that T/A is hot, but in all honesty, I’d rather have your truck than that thing!
Thanks for sharing the pics!

Thanks for saying that, I have been jealously watching your paint project. Your truck was already beautiful before the new paint, I cannot wait to see the finished product.

Due to a strange series of events, the fact that the owner was drinking and I was not and some weird circumstances, that Trans Am spent the night under my carport. Mrs. Redfish woke up this morning to find her car parked outside with the Trans Am taking its place.

I drove the T/A to get gasoline and then drove it back to its owner's house. Folks kept waving and blowing the horn and giving me "thumbs up" signals. I felt pretty cool for a little while.

Thanks! It’s definitely a garage job, but not bad all things considered.

@Redfish, thank you as well. Been a fun little project but it’s gotta get out of the shop. Got repairs lined up on all my other junk because the blue truck is still beached in there.
Your truck looks about as clean as they get for being original. A lot to be said for that.

@SirRobyn0
@Redfish found your truck’s twin!
Yea, pretty similar. Mines an 84, and here she is doing what she does best. Working, this photo is from just yesterday towing my trailer with tractor on it back home from my Dad's farm where I'd done some digging work for him.

In order to make this fit the post better fit the thread let me tell you what I did last weekend, changed the engine oil and filter, full tune up. Replaced the 40 year old OEM ignition module, which was working fine but old. Installed the new one put the old on in the glove box.
