Ok narrowed it down to two rims and sizes.

87 3/4 suburban with 2 inch lift: Looking to get 33s on the burb.

16x8 rims with a -12 offset and 4 in backspacing. Will they fit?

Or

17x9 rims with 0 offset and 5 backspacing? Will they fit?

Depends on your definition of 'fit', your front spring rate and also your driving style.

But 'yes' to both.

If you run the normal 305/70 or 33x12.5 then you will most likely get some minor rubbing if your springs are soft and/or you take it off the pavement and basic gravel roads.

On the 16x8, you could run a narrower 285/75 that is still a 33" size but will be less likely to need minor fender trimming. But that's not a very impressive size, lol. It fits many modern trucks in stock condition.

Got ya. So a 5 in backspacing will work.

The 16" steel wheels were only 6.5" wide. I seem to recall a backspacing of about 3.75", but can measure one tomorrow to be sure.

You’re correct. And they’re 0 offset.

These wheels came on my K30. They are the 2000 and up PY0 wheels. Here's the info on them. The tires were 265/75/16 and did not hit the front springs.

RPO - PYO
Rim 16x 6.5
Lug 8 x 6.5
Offset +29mm
Backspace 4.875"

Photo #3 is Frankenchevy's truck. 16x8" 4" BS 285/75/16. I know his truck does not have a lift, but being a K30 it's 2" taller than yours.
