So long story short, last night something in my jacket pocket decided to spontaneously combust and Burnt up the the inside of my truck. Luckily really only the bench is damaged but not sure what to do? Are the whole benches actually only 250? how much do y'all think it would cost for installation at a garage? anyone in nw Georgia that would sell an extra for less than 200? Side note, it smells like burnt popcorn when these vinyl seats burn. I hate it lmao

That's a bummer and a Christmas gift at the same time! Best possible outcome. The real question was what was the something? Presume a Li Ion or LiFePO4 battery device. What was it? A phone, E cig, ?

Way better than the pic I was expecting to see...
Just go buy a used seat from someone parting out a truck and have it re-upholstered. You aint going to accomplish it for $200 though. And even more $ if you can't actually remove and replace the seat yourself.

Yep, less than $200 ain’t a thing just as grit dog said. And these are easy peasy to remove in the driveway. Should be out inside of 5 minutes

I have an extra seat, but being I am 9hrs away. If you were closer I would give it as an xmas present to a fellow square body owner.
Maybe someone near you has one and can help out
Good Luck!

I really appreciate that, but yeah I always see square bodies driving around my town so hopefully it shouldn't be too hard, a buddy of mine apparently knows someone here who might be willing to sell one and then I also think I found one at a local scrap yard but I'm not sure. It's listed as a 1988 Chevy 1500 front seat assembly

I'm sorry to hear that, that's really sad. Looks like the seat was pretty nice too, bummer.
Could've been way worse tho. Look at this truck I found at the junkyard...

Super lucky it was just limited to that area. I dont have any complete 81-87 style benches bud, but this is a perfect time to pull your bench seat out and replace the foam and recover it yourself. It’s a super easy project that you can def do at home, while smoking as much as you want.

I can also put you in touch with a guy up by Dahlonega who is always parting out c10’s

MAN!! When you said "bondfire" I really was expecting to see something like what @AyWoSch Motors showed us! So I want to know, when did you find it? Like, this morning? And it just did that much? Boy, you are lucky that's all it did. Okay, so you can get yourself a Christmas present, a new seat! Sounds like a win, win. @AyWoSch Motors, Man, that's a good truck! How long has it been there? What, no one wants to tackle that little clean up? C'mon!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone here at GM Square Body. Gator tail and mud bugs!

Yeah, that was a nice truck. Been there about a month now I think. I took the doors, bumpers, and some other stuff, some guy got the fenders last week. I knew the guy that had it, he said he was replacing the carb, and got gas everywhere, walked away, and came back to it ablaze. Started in the engine bay, then moved to the cab, were a can of mix gas exploded.
That cab was junk, the firewall was so thin you could poke threw it with a screw driver.
