No no no, truck stays! It has to wiggle on out of there somehow, there's no other way the guy could have put it together.

My guess is he forced it through, but how it comes out without damage, I have no idea. What he was paid and what he delivered (9+ months later) is just criminal (which is common in this area). I dont have the $$ to weather another do-over.

Probably are. I would bet money they aren't even the correct u-joints. How do I get them in? They are pretty packed.

The pumpkin has to be removed to replace inner axle seals.Ive never damaged mine by removing axles multiple times tho.

Asshat now tells me it will barely go in one way and that the grease fittings (flush) will have to be removed.

I have never seen one of these in there with so little to no room to come out. I still think he used the wrong u-joints.

Looking at the picture - on my phone so take it for what it’s worth, the caps look too squared off. Axle joints have more angular shape to them. Also do not remember seeing grease fittings in front u joint caps. Not saying it cannot happen, but just do not remember seeing them when I was working in an axle shop.

Edit: I stand corrected. Just looked some up and saw some with grease fitting in cap. If you are taking them out, I would look at replacing the (new) joints with spicer 5-760x joints with no grease fittings.

At this point I seriously have no idea what I'm going to do with the axle or the truck in general - everything has gone this way and its just not worth it anymore. Would also depend how much the new joints are and if I can find anyone I trust to put them in (around here? thats no one). I know the boob had a helluva time getting these in.

So I found what the asshat did....he ground 2 small areas so that the corners of a u-joint, if aligned, would just clear. But now I have this on the lower ball joint - that slot is far too big for a screwdriver. Another proprietary tool? Looks to be a Moog thing and I can find nothing on it.

Found the trick - gotta preload the top ball joint and the lower nut will break loose without spinning the shaft.
