My truck's 4WD never worked right. The PO's son bastardized everything he attempted with it. There was an unopened set of Warn metal lockouts in the small box of parts that came with it, so I am ASSuming they knew of an issue before. I had the transfer case checked out - its fine, but tired so is getting new innards too.

When I took the front hubs apart, I photographed everything in the order I removed it......however, I strongly believe it was messed with before as there are things missing from one side to the other. The grease looked like a gray pate' - smelled like ass and is gritty - far beyond time for cleaning.

Do any of you fellas know of a video or pics, etc. that would show how to re-assemble these hubs in a way that I would know what is missing as well? This is one area that bugs me as I know no one in this area who would/could do this, or that I would trust to either.

My front axle is coming back next week (supposedly) so I need to know to order parts, kits , etc.

Thanks.

if it's new in the box, it should come with directions. My original set was missing a spring on one side.....thats why I went all new.

There was nothing in the box paper-wise. But yep - springs are missing on one side and a smaller washer is missing from the other.

washer rings a bell as well. Look up the kit you have on utube and the manufacturers website. If in doubt, give them a call....should be a pretty quick call.
