nice Suburban! I am pretty sure LMC sells the window rubber you are looking for.

Thanks for the reply glen. LMC has the rubber piece but it its for the 1975 and newer square bodied suburban. I am not quite sure what the exact difference is but I thought it might work for my 73, ordered them, and found that the channels for both glass and the body panel are not where they need to be. It seems that GM changed the quarter window for the 75 model year after maybe encountering some issues with the 73 and 74 design? I did encounter a lot of rot on the top side of the window frame when i removed the old rubber. Other than LMC most after market specialists seem to only offer up to 1972 and post 1975. I am at a loss where to look next. The previous owner reused the original seals but when reinstalling it they split it down the middle and re-glued it together with liquid gasket. When I first saw it I was perplexed why they would go through all that trouble and not just get new ones. I understand why now. lol

@ChicksNwaffles Welcome, beautiful truck. Precision Weatherstripping has a part number, but shows out of stock. Maybe you can find another vendor that carries their products and still has it in stock.

Thanks for the reply and the link. Unfortunately that is not the window i need a seal for. I did replace the window seals for the one you linked though! The window I am trying to repair the seals on is the rear quarter window and unfortunately they do not carry the part.

If it hasn't been done already, one quick upgrade is to swap in an HEI distributor from a '75 or newer vehicle. Get the large cap version with an internal coil and only two external wires (BAT power and tach). Its an easy direct swap, and you no longer have to worry about adjusting and replacing points.

Hi Bruce, a guy at the speedshop told me the same thing. One of the first things I had to do was replace or rebuild the carb so I swapped out Carb with a new one and put in a HEI distributor.

Hey everybody - glad to have found this forum. I am new to the square body world though i did learn to drive on a 75 scottsdale back on the farm. But I am an adult in the suburbs now. I purchased a 73 super cheyenne suburban a couple years ago. I performed a few repairs on it that were in my wheelhouse and hired out some work too. My mechanic loves working on this old beast. She's good to go anywhere. Biggest puzzle piece is to locate the elusive rear quarter window seals. Anyhow, looking forward to sharing and discussing. see ya on the boards.

I used to tease a buddy of mine about him putting dual line carbs on his engines.I'd tell him I'll always know where to find him...at the gas pumps with the arab station owner smiling as he fills er up! Again.
