I don't have anything to add really, but these things are pretty uncommon aren't they? We recently purchased a '77 GMC project truck for my daughter and it has a bunch of '73-'74 parts on it, including the tailgate. I hadn't seen one in a very long time.

I found one about 2 years ago and i was stupid and didnt know what i was looking at and i passed on it for rust reasons...
Would she/you be willing to part with it?

We didn't plan on swapping out any body parts, just replace rockers, fix dents and repaint the truck.
