I want to get a new tool soon(close enough to lately) that’s 20 volt dewalt. I have 3 batteries and 2 charger stands but he only use I have for them are my heated jackets I got ridiculously cheap.

I don’t need a heated jacket for half the year or more, I was thinking about a leaf blower.. maybe..something speciality or uniquely helpfulthat im gonna be happy I got. I have a lot of power tools in Milwaukee already. Lighting is something that interests me, I want a Milwaukee under hood lamp but I don’t think dewalt has any like that. what I have:
Screw guns, impacts from large to small, old 18v sawzall(heavy, maybe dewalt is light?), ratchet, air compressor(only 12v, wouldn’t mind getting upgrade)

I put the flap down on my riding mover for my leaf blower :)

I've been buying all kinds of stuff. to name a few, a vice, impact screw driver, Dewalt nut driver/drill set, swivel sockets, 11-pience Mac tools plier set, new rolling stool, and still waiting for my top chest of my toolbox, backordered to June since February

For my use compact isn’t a necessity as much as just being lighter (those can technically be different depending on construction) here are my current sawZall things

I also have two corded ones that are old but like the left one are bulky and heavy

for me it would be helpful to have something two handed but easier to hold overhead or out from your core for Like cutting branches or laying under something. Does yours weigh much?

my only current option is to use an adapter on a small m18 battery but that is only a pound or two

im not weak but I’m sure anyone who hunts knows the struggle lol and I can’t figure out how to put a sling on the sawZall yet:mad:

I don't know what it weighs, but I can weigh it with a battery installed if you would like.

My understanding is that th 20V / 18V thing with DeWalt is mostly marketing. Apparently they're cross-compatible and 20V is really only after a fresh charge.

I could be wrong.

I'm no technical ****, but I think it's only 20v with no load. Once it gets a load put on it, it's 18v.

Doesn't matter much to me though. 20v or 18v, I really like the Dewalt "20v" products. Everything I own or have used of theirs is well balanced, comfortable with no hard edges that are just for style and I REALLY like the fact that you can see the battery's charge status without having it installed on the tool. And also, the drills and impacts and others that have work lights, you can pull the trigger just part way to turn on the light only.

Finally got all the stuff for my torch set.

500$ in bottles, i can.now cut thru up to 6"
Oh if you got steel and two matching donut spares I have a project idea to show you lol

my grandpa made a service cart for his oxygen-amphetamine torch set since he had the tall bottles (no idea what pounds, a 100lb propane cylinder is the same height about)
It’s pretty cool one day I’ll be making liquid out of stuck ****

can’t be stuck if it’s liquid

Last oil filter I replaced on a Nissan I didn’t have the right socket with me and I was far from a store or home amd I said **** it,cedar(car owner person was watching) and out a screwdriver in one side, ran it just off of center to avoid the threads)valve and to use it as the fulcrum, then out the other side to not allow the poked side to be torn (cheap valvoline filter from a quick lube place) and let it drain for a minute then turned counter clockwise

didn’t bother buying one for the toolbox I figured if I run into this situation again where I can’t poke it I’ll just cry and drive somewhere. That’s future mes problem

I have an old 18 volt dewalt(stubby battery, midsize drill) and if I can just use an adapter for that I could do that. Always need another drill to leave setup with a wire wheel or drill bit so I can use the others for that. I have my porter cable that is 20volt doin that lol

I put the flap down on my riding mover for my leaf blower :)
Flap was removed when bought x540, gx235 lost its flap when I kept running it into stuff

we have a lot of stuff and I don’t mow at any speed slower than full speed so it’s not an option I have :(

also would be weird to bring mower in garage to make a dust storm and trying to aim it at the open door but I am down to try lol. Actual leafs would be like in the fall only at the base of our driveway where you can’t see the opening or the grass next to it where they break down so thick the grass hardly grows there because the ground has so much brush... never saw a forest floor In a clearing till I moved in to my grandmas lol

I do believe there is an adapter to go from the peg type of battery to the shoe type. Since you mention it, I have to look into that myself.

Oh. Well, I see. I don’t understand how even the occasional 20volt can be healthy for 18 but it can’t be that horrendous if you can get that. It’s a little bulk adding and it would make the drill probably fall over but I’m sure it works for other tools? Lol

Because it's a "nominal" 20V. In other words 20 volts fresh off the charger, no load. As soon as you start to use it it's real world 18 volts. In other words, marketing.
