Hi there!
I have been looking for some insight on whether or not this will work but here's the idea.
My girlfriend and I would like to use my Suburban to go camping. The idea was to either just remove the third row bench seat that is already there (it only folds/tilts forward) and just sleep in the open back by laying down an air mattress and blankets.
My idea would be to just get one of those bench/bed seats from those conversion vans and use those if they are a direct install (obviously I would need to add in wiring for the electric position adjustment).
Questions
Has anyone ever done something like that here?
Would the bench/bed seat from something like a Vandura fit or am I looking at something custom?
Can you guys recommend some kind of bed solution that would be easy and comfortable, without spending crazy money?
Info:
I have a 1990 Suburban, Geneva Edition
It's got that high top roof and conversion van interior. Third row seat is a leather bench seat.
Looking through here is pretty interesting regarding all the conversions on the squarebody suburbans.
These seemed to be more designed for transporting your family and luggage in luxury, while towing a camper. The conversion vans seemed to be more for RV use.
