New Fuel Lines Not Even Close

No idea where to start but no doubt you fellas have forgotten more than I know of these things. Can do the old 4N junk in my sleep.....but these? Still testing waters.

So I buy new stainless FI and brake lines from Inline. Got them last year - just opening them up. There are 3 sections of lines they sell separately....1)dual tank crossover; 2)main and 3) fuel vapor. I spoke to them a few times about this since I was going from carb to FI. They told me to get the lines for the 87 (which all their lines say 81-87). Makes sense.

So I get into this today and what they sent me in no way shape or form even resembles what I have. I expect there to be some differences (carb-FI) but these bends, unions, etc aren't even close. They sent 4 brass unions and they dont fit any of the ends. ?! They could be from a Ford Ranger for all I know. The dual tank crossover lines weren't exactly a good fit either - had to tweak and they seem a tad short on each end, but thats doable. Here's my original lines compared to what they sent. I have never bent my own lines but wish I'd bought all the crap to figure out how to do that instead of these things. Their customer service utterly sucks too. Waste of time getting them to read back to me what I can read online. ONLY markings on these lines are some have black rubber tips, some red - some gray and a yellow. Does that mean anything? Dunno. There is zero paperwork for this either. Guess they figure you'll match it to what you have.....which I tried.

Just hoping someone here has gone through this already or a guru can point me in the right direction. I'm at a dead stop otherwise.

Think I'm going to try and save my old lines. Am totally done with Inline. What a waste of $.

That sucks. I’d thought I heard mostly good stuff about them...

I made my own lines from 25’ coils of tubing. It was pretty satisfying.

I laid everything out and they are nowhere near the same. I have no idea what these even go to or what the unions they sent are even for - they're not even the same size as any of the fittings. Even if I could piece them together there isn't enough line. I bought these last winter - so cant return them.

Here's one better: late Saturday I order their 158pc front end bolt kit, plus the stainless hardware for the front brake lines. Their site is very sluggish....turns out it went through twice so I had '2' orders in. I call them when they open Monday - tell them to cancel the one and they say they cant (even though its not shipped yet). WTF? So they sent both, then issue a return slip through Fedex that you HAVE to use (and pay for) plus a restocking fee. Reading their online reviews, seems they have issues sending the correct parts and parts that dont fit, then demanding a restocking fee if you return a product that didn't fit. WTF?

There is no way in hell I'd buy from these shtheads at Inline again.

Im actually in the same boat on a set of brake lines from them for a 99 oldsmobile aurora
they matched the picture for the brake lines
but the brake lines
all said and done
do not match a single god damn turn, bend, or other feature of the entire car. and the differences in lines ddidnt make sense because they never made the car with rear drums( one of their big differences) and even tho TCS was an option, tcs only added 2 lines which ran from master cylinder to abs module to 2 ports that were unused on models without.(same abs pump, just different electronics, switch on dash, and provisions in software). the only differences in 95-99 should be for 95-97, 98-99 which would be the shape of the lines at the front becuase of difference crossmembers(different routing) and the addition or subtraction of 2 extra lines if TCS or not.
and the lines dont come with the proportioning valves or a spot to connect them.. .so you would have to cut and flare the spot yourself.

and that is assumign they all worked. no instructions, no diagrams. just how to unbend them. I conaacted them back and they said they would only send me the proper ones after i pay restock on the current ones which i had unbended and that means id have to ship UNDAMAGED back to them..........


Payu the cost of the lines in shipping to get the lines i originally paid for..
Oh yeah thats the stuff.


Customer support wouldnt even acknowledge my request for technical support or like diagrams or pictures which youd think they would develop them and take pics on the cars after doing it, rihght? So they can show you on their ads and then make a helpful diagram. I dont think they could make them off car without testing, it just cant perfectly make the line without knowing where it mounts where it clamps what it connects etc

Read their more recent reviews and it looks like thats their new business plan: send out wrong / random parts, then charge the victim restocking and shipping....then sell same wrong part again. Wash - rinse - repeat.

I'm so sick of these vendors that this ongoing sht makes me think about just parting the whole mess out. I dont need the stress and it stopped being 'fun' awhile ago. I needed a truck, not a project. This is becoming more like owning a boat with the big hole you toss $ into. Never wanted one of them either.

So I returned the bag of bolts and brake hardware they sent twice. They received it almost 3 weeks ago and still no refund. Have emailed them 4x and no reply.

Caveat emptor. Anyone 'happy' with these frauds is an exception, not a rule.

Only way to deal with these frauds is to use a cc then do a charge back. They'll rip me off good for the wrong/missing fuel lines because its been too long, but I'll get it the bolts/bracket $$ back. The way they are dealing with it just proves my point, and from the reviews, I'm not the only one.

Whats funny is the yelp reviews are 10/12 very bad....there's 25 more you have to click to read.....23/25 of those are very bad also.

Wish I'd seen these 6 months ago.

For many, the emotional highlight of any project is the acquisition and planning, unfortunately. That being said, if you do get it dialed it’ll be nice to drive around. You’ll get there. Just know that the last 15% seems to take as long as the first 85. The frustration is compounded by crap that doesn’t fit right or starts failing just as soon as you bolt it on. Eventually, most of it gets shaken out. May take many trips to the parts store, though.

Contrary to popular opinion, newer trucks are much easier to live with day to day if you cover a lot of miles. They just happen to cost a lot of money and can be unreliable in their own ways. I’ll never get rid of my square, no matter how much grief it causes. That’s why you rarely see a doofus like me with one truck. We’re illogical.

A good-ending update.

I got a call from Inline - never spoke to this fella before so might have been new. Either way, was night-day difference from the douche I spoke to before.

He said the guy handling returns 'just left'. I asked 'Did he quit?' "Must have - because he never came back." So they were weeks behind in their returns. He also said they normally have 50 employees....but are down to 20. He admitted they cant compete with a govt that pays you to do nothing. UFB.

Anyways, he refunded the error order of bolts/brake hardware 100%. I told him the second order was a partial refund - I was keeping the bolts. "Dont worry about it." Awesome. :hat:

So back to the fuel lines. I emailed him explaining what transpired with them and that they were from October. I hadn't heard anything so didn't know if they even had them. He calls me again this AM and says "we got them - they were received - but we cant find them. So I'm going to just refund you the original amount."

Even more awesome. :hat::hat:

So by the grace of God go I and I am whole again. The brake lines I got from them so far are pretty decent. Not 100% accurate but tweakable to where they need to go. Was better without their fuel line 'kit' anyways - dont see why anyone would buy a stock replacement if converting to FI. Much shorter lines and alot less bends.

FWIW.....I would still open every package the nano-second it arrives and use a cc to cover myself. Wouldn't want to go through this again.

Do you think they would offer any help on a 2 year old purchase.. I might want his email because truthfully if I can get the right lines I would be estatic and I have all the lines unadultered just hangning out between the seats in the car.
Could you DM me a email or if for some reason you still kept contact ask about the the vague details.
