Guys, I’m new to this forum. I’m in the process of purchasing a 1977 K30 Scottsdale. Before I buy, I’m looking for an answer about fuel to run in it? Can I run the blended fuel at most pumps. I can not buy ethanol free fuel where I live.

You can absolutely run any pump gas.
It might be a little more abrasive on some old rubber. But it’s probably been running it for the last 20 years anyway.

How much ethanol percentage is what your asking I know most blends above 10% start to really need extra consideration because of how much less energy density and characteristics are different needing new lines or changed to timing, e10 should be fine.
Is this truck heavily modified or is it just a been kept up or is it a barn find?

Yep, run whatever you can get. As you replace what the ethanol tears up, you'll replace it with ethanol friendly stuff. You can even get ethanol carb rebuild kits now days. Pretty sure all new fuel line is approved for ethanol too. Don't think to hard on a K30 or it'll be gone. Go Buy it.

Thread moved to Engine & Performance, Carb Fuel Systems.

Thanks Gentlemen. I haven’t been able to talk to the seller, he is unavailable for the next few days. I will find out what fuel he has been running in the truck. The truck has been kept up so maybe your right and it has been running on E10 for years.

The truck has had some mods. It has a 4 inch lift and runs 35 inch tires. The front axle has been replaced with a kingpin Dana 60. The engine is not modified. The seller is throwing in a new dual plane intake and a new clutch kit. It is missing the a/c compressor so there will be some work to get the air back working.

I think 1 tons 4wd in 77 only came with a kingpin axle? 3/4 ton I think it was optional to get d44 or 10 bolt

I do believe so yes d60 should be. This is at least in 1980 what I refer to as standard. I don’t think the squares used other diffs until later or CUCVs. ,ight have had a nicer one put in if the owner claims it was changed also nice ratio that thing can haul some ass, dirt, trailers, or *****. In whichever order you prefer, there’s room in the back for the odd one out.
To keep it in nice shape make sure to stop any rust where it’s at and change the seals on hose roof markers do you don’t ooose sheet metal up there invisibly.
