Ordered tanks for my k3500 and one came in banged up  bottom pushed up so the sump (fi) doesn’t sit flat on the bottom and missing o ring and lock ring. Let the madness begin on filling a clam. Not sure where the used coffee and ice packs came from.

 that sucks!! Wtf

That’s weird,is it possible that the coffee was used to absorb moisture

Picked up the new brake cylinders push rods and the adjustable vacuum modulator was sitting on the front porch when I got home.

Well, better get on it.

I like the placement of the exit pipe.
And how does it sound?
Don’t know yet. Dropped it off at the tuner’s immediately after the exhaust shop and the fuel pump isn’t working. Don’t know if it’s the wiring to the connector on the sending unit came loose or if I burned up a second pump (the first one died in October when my tuner first loaded the startup tune)

But the ‘zawst sure does look good!

I don’t think so but I’m gonna put it up on stands tomorrow and look it all over. I unhooked the battery myself. It didn’t run on the trailer. I drove it out of the shop Sunday and it died. Looking back, it acted just like running out of fuel

Use 15w40 next time more dinosaurs in it as Derek off Vice Grip Garage says. But seriously it has zinc in it at the levels that many normal oils use to.

Didn't they change the formulation recently on diesel oil ?

Not sure if that removed the zinc, or would preclude its use in my old engine.

It was cheap (10W40), and available, so I went with it instead of 20W50 this time.

I'm trying to decide how I want my tails. Can I see a shot of the truck on the ground you standing looking at it from say 20ft from the side and rear. Trying to decide on that placement or at a 45 angle also angled at the ground like that.

Yes, the ppm on zinc was decreased but it's still 2 to 3x what's in regular brands 5w/ 10w- 30or40 oils. It varies by brand though. Not all diesel oil is the same nor all con entional gas oils

He has always used it. Yea you can use it. I use it in all my mowers and stuff like generators and stuff. It's a bit thicker but for old school push rod v8s like we have and what he runs it's fine. It has zinc which is an anti wear addative . It's a heavy metal and been heavily reduced from motor oils in the last 10 years or so. It forms a bond on the metal to protect from wear. It's really more important on flat tappet cams like we have. All engines now are roller rockers so they have less friction already. You can do what you want and do your own research. But I will tell you 100% that you can run 15w40 in these engines. Now if your up where he lives at -20f you will want to run a block heater with it !!! Watch one of those cold starts when he starts one last year in his drive in negative weather. It didn't have oil pressure for a PAINFULLY long time!

Finished installing the new seat belts. The latch belts were all to long so that's why you see them with knots tied in them. Before putting the knots in them the latch would be in front of the stomach and were very uncomfortable. Now they're down on the side where they should be.
