So the bushings on the '85 K20 Suburban were well past their 35 year old expiration date. Just spent the last hour installing new urethane bushings on it. Yay!

Rear bumper.Extremely happy with it!I did have to mount my plug for trailer.Got a trick hole saw set awhile back.Made short work of the 5/16” plate.Good quality.

Man,what a difference that DUI ignition parts made!I had a accel module and gm performance rotor and cap....night and day difference.

I don't get how yall live in that snow and cold af ****. I'll be the first to admit that I'll **** out when it gets really cold. But, the snowing and ice. Getting trapped in your house for a month or a couple of weeks. Then trying to drive in that ****.

I lived in Illinois for 3 years and hated the winters! Dig your car out early in the morning. Then have them plow a wall of snow 3 foot high across your driveway. Warming your car up while scraping ice off your windows. Door locks freezing.

The only thing people bitch about Texas weather is it's hot af. I'll give you that but, hot never affected mobility or water or power loss.

Yes a hurricane or tropical storm can screw ya but, that's not every year that happens. Just like the freezing cold this week. Far a few between and can usually prepare for them.

Anyway, to each their own
How was that freeze in Texas treating you. Wish you were back in Illinois??!?!?!:lol::signs6::wtf2:

I asked my technician, who used to work for a car dealer, and he said they would loosen the lugnuts on both sides of the axle so the wheels could flex a little further and get a guy on each side of it and rock it. So get a friend. A big friend. Sometimes they would add heat, but you want to be real careful with that. Tires do some nasty things when heated.

Rocking the rig back and forth is nothing compared to going through a turn at 60mph and hitting chuck holes.

But! I'm happy to report that after driving 300 rough miles with loose lugnuts, I was finally able to get the wheel off... after also heating around the hub with a torch and then using everything I had in me to swing the big sledgehammer at the top of the tire.

Starter crapped out, but I'm happy it decided to die while I was in my own driveway. I've been wanting to try a mini starter, so after some searching I had Summit send me a Powermaster 9200. This brand gets good reviews and is U.S. made.

Installation took longer than it should have because I was determined to follow the instructions and check the lash between the starter pinion and the flexplate. Easier said than done. I thought if I removed the inspection cover, which first requires removing the lines off of the transmission, I'd be able to see how the gears were meshing. Nope, I couldn't see anything, let alone get a wire gauge in there to check it. To hell with it, went to plan B which was to bolt it in and hope for the best. Seems to be fine without shimming, starts ok and doesn't make any weird noises so I'm calling it a successful repair.

Dad came over to help bleed the brakes last night. Got a ton of air out of the master and the rear brakes, finally have a pedal back! So now just a few adel clamps, remake the front fuel line so I can route it better, tape/loom/zip tie some wiring out of the way and it can go to the exhaust shop next week!

You can always do what Discount Tire does. Get a brass wire brush for drill and use around lug bolts on hub and also on wheel in areas that contact. Might help.

Messing with some of my carburetor's for my 77, k5. The one on the left is a holley 1850 with a rear metering block conversion, the one on the right is a quick fuel off road 600 with the rear metering block conversion as well, (this 600 is no longer made). Right now I have a brawler, 650 double pumper on my blazer and it seems to pull the hardest. I am trying to fine tune these carb's for the best mileage vs. power so I keep changing things, (ifr's, pvcr's, air bleeds, jets, etc..) I am trying to hit 15 mpg or so with good power. The 650 brawler, (not in pic) is pretty trick, side hung, spring loaded floats, single feed, and everything inside is changeable and it's a double pumper. I am still at it to find the best of the three, It's fun messing with them and learning a lot along the way.

Started the column repair. Based on the pinned thread I'm probably going to screw it up. These things are a bit complicated, but hey guess I might end up with a new coulmn if I jack it up bad enough.....
