NP 208C Front Output Shaft Seal R&R

Hello!
I have an 85 GMC K15 and my front driveline output seal on my transfer case is leaking and needs to be replaced. I have already pulled the driveline and yoke. The seal doesn’t seem to have a metal lip around the outer edge to grab ahold of to pry it out like I am accustomed to seeing. Am I missing something? I didn’t want to get too rough with it and possibly scar the case. I have a seal puller but I really can’t get it in there without pulling the cross member.

Also, my companion flange yoke is worn at the sealing surface. Do you guys know what repair sleeve I can get off of the top of your heads? I have an Oriellys and Autozone near by.

It'll be pretty much impossible to get it out with a pry bar or screw driver, or any method like that. I tried for like 5 minutes and gave up so I didn't ruin anything. If I remember correctly the new seal comes with the little lip like you're talking about, but its still not enough to get the new seal out if you needed to.

Personally I invested in a slide hammer, not only for this job, but a slide hammer is one of the more useful tools I've ever used. Also it's my go to tool for seal pulling, of any style, quick easy and painless. Works for many other things as well, like removing soft plugs in blocks etc.

Just thread on a small little j-hook and pull it right out. Oreillys may have one for that tool borrowing program.

I don't know a part number for a speedy sleeve, I opted to replace my yoke and not deal with it again. Don't forget the spline seal under the nut as well!

I have a slide hammer but hadn’t thought about using a J hook. I’ll give that a try.
