Whenever I step up to a bigger box, it’ll most likely be an ICON box. Very similar quality to snap on at half the price

I don’t like icon and here’s why. You don’t get latching or soft close drawers. It’s double if not more than the US General and that at least has latching drawers. The drawers on the Icon slam closed and slide open on the smallest of inclines. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t at least put latches on the drawers since it costs all of $0.03 in the factory to add on. The drawer slides also don’t feel as sturdy as the US General. They slide in very unevenly and shimmy on the way in compared to the US General. On a $2500+ box I would expect these things since the cheaper one has it. This is my experience with several demo units at several stores. JMO

The ones I’ve seen demos of in the store had latches just like my Sunex box does. The whole handle pulls up to unlatch it’s and it clicks shut. I don’t need soft close, I’ve gotten in the habit of shutting them gently or paying the consequences [emoji23]

That’s one thing I hate about the US General boxes, the latch is a little slider on one underside of the handle. Really annoying for long drawers. My Sunex and the Icons I’ve seen, the whole handle pulls up. Much better IMO

I just got this box for Christmas and love it so far.
Soon I will be getting the matching top box and will have everything transferred from my current box to the new units.
I also have just enough room for one of the side cabinets.
For all three pieces I will be right at $1,000 for the set up.

It should last forever and look good doing it in my garage as I am no professional.

Yeah the icon boxes I see have the adjustable knobs to make them stay closed. The soft close thing... my Matco 5s doesn’t even have that. So.... it’s still comparable.

Added this yesterday. The guy at the store screwed up...had to know he was, he seen the price tag on it. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth, was $216 out the door.

I've got the same model and have been very pleased with it. Although, I had to pay a lot more, lol.

That’s interesting. All the demos I’ve seen must be outdated then? I do agree that the US General is kinda cheesy but at least it has them. I’ll have to keep looking for the boxes with the latches and give them another try.

Lol, sorry you didn't get the deal i did....which I have yet to understand?? Don't have the power I'm used to (An 84 model Husky, carb is wore smooth out on, as well as the trigger) Though has plenty enough for what I'm needing, I ain't logging.

I like the power to weight ratio. It's awesome for someone such as myself that is usually only cutting up stuff 12" diameter or less. Or at least that's what I told myself when I bought it, lol. On a few occasions I've had to cut logs about 24".

I ain't going to lie. I got the longer bar so when cutting small stuff, I ain't got to bend over as far!!
It is a nice saw. First Stihl I ever ran.

Picked up a Snap-On techangle torque wrench today. I elected for the 15-300 ftlb 1/2 drive version. Also ordered the 159 piece impact socket set from tekton. I got a new job as a equipment tech for CAT so had to upgrade some tools lol.
