I had purchased this truck 3 years ago and have slowly been replacing the badly rusted spots. I finally got it running and when I took it on the road it was interesting. I put it in gear and it stumbles, I push the accelerator and it stumble badly to the point it wants to die. Could anyone please help me out. If not then it is off to the shop.

Thank you
Aaron

Carb rebuild most likely. Not knowing anything about the truck or history

Carb rebuild, maybe vacuum leaks, maybe cap/wires/plugs, maybe all of the above. I’d start with a compression test and check the vacuum at idle. Then I’d be setting the initial timing, then setting the idle speed and idle mixture. You should probably check the condition of the ignition components including spark plugs and air filter before doing anything else.

Sounds like a vacuum leak or timing issue.

What year is it? What engine? If it's carburated check to see if you have accelerator pump shot. And how are we supposed to diagnose a stumble without pics. Rusty will school you on this.

Be sure to add fresh gasoline and fuel filter to the things listed previously
