I want to see some lowered 3/4 tons

Damn that looks great! What tires do you have on there? Are they the stock 16" steelies?

F: 235/85/16 on 16x7 5 lug steelies w/ 1.25” spacers
R: 285/75/16 on 16x8 5 lug steelies w/ 1.25” spacers. Rears rub a smidge, but other than that it has worked out good. I may take the spacers off, it has a great look, but when I load down the bed it definitely rubs if I am not careful.

I just checked them out and I saw this:
I had seen this picture before but now I know where the wheels came from! I like the fact you can have clips put on and use the poverty caps. I dunno If I'd end up with white walls, but I really like those wheels with the lowpro tires. May be a little low for me but I dunno yet. the one in the picture is almost exactly my truck, 78 Camper Special except that looks like colonial yellow. Mine is buckskin tan.

I will definitely keep you in mind, but I think I'm keepin em. It kinda adds to the character of it and the fact that its a camper special. Plus it just would be super cool and retro if I lowered it and kept those on.

I've had both, the lifted truck was a bigger pia to do anything with truck wise....

Sorry to get off topic, this is a huge pet peeve of mine. I've probably done more "truck" like work with my 1/2 suburban than 70% of 3/4 truck owners ever do.....

1000% agree!!! I think a lot of the “debate” comes from many folks just not being educated on properly lowered trucks

Honestly, don't do it, not to the C20. Get a C10 that is lowered, or so you can lower it.

It's your truck, but why throw away the money your parents spent on getting the truck solid. Blow your money on lowering a different truck. I'd be pissed off if I spent a good chunk of change to get my kid's truck structurally sound, only for him to eff it all up a year or two down the road.

I'm glad you're still just considering.

I think 3/4 tons look good just the way they came. Maybe just slightly taller tires.
That's why you see so many of them in Chevrolet commercials and ads.
There's just not that many clean 3/4 tons left to be making them look like the more common 1/2 tons.

Ill be lowering my 1/2 ton longbed 2/3 this spring. Did it to my last one and loved it. If you use spindles up front and hangers/shackles with shock relocation for the rear the suspension geometry doesn't really change. It still rides exactly how it did before the drop. No better No worse. Thats a 1/2 ton though im pretty sure you can do the same thing to a 3/4 ton.

However I too would keep a 3/4 ton stock or lifted

I do love the wider look on these trucks for sure! The wheel wells are so wide that the stock setup can get sucked in and lost in there. A wider setup like yours makes a HUGE difference. Nicely done, man

Thanks! I agree. Wheel wells are pretty wide, I kinda gambled with the spacers and the 285’s, but it worked. It does rub on one side barely if I load it down. I just put new air lines in the air shocks so I figured I could keep a little pressure in them at all times to reduce the axle travel. My rubbing comes from turning up curbs into driveways and what not. I try to go straight on, but I got a spooled 4.11 rear end and 285’s so the turning radius is sub par to say the least hahaha.

Truck looks great. Since your truck is a 1/2 ton, there's a lot of options. Just get an XL load range. The first link is to Tire Rack's list of available 16" tires. The right column is 245mm and up. Second link is a way to visually compare tire sizes.
