So i bought these panels off eBay without doing much research on trim options for a 91 . I got them for my 83 crew cab and assumed I could find an aluminum insert to replace the wood grain . What were the options for 91 besides wood grain

Would it be possible to make my own out of 81-87 trim pieces ?

I had bought a '91 dash for my '79 years ago. I'm not sure about the doors, but the wood grain detail on the dash trim is only paint. I was able to strip it and use a scuff pad to bring back the brushed finish. Around the cluster I bought a new brush insert.

The door panel itself is the same as the '83 if you want to put your carpet inserts and trim, door straps, and map pockets on them.

Easy solution although it likely won’t match the dash trim 100% is vinyl wrap. Could find a shade that is close or do the dash too.
I’m toying with that idea on my dash doors and tailgate although those details are a ways out. Still needs paint, lol.

Yep, it's as simple as swapping on the older style trim and cloth panels.

I actually went through the same thing with my 90 burb when I was trying to find something different than the fake wood grain and I couldn't find anything that I was 100% sure was going to match the new alum insert I got for the gauge bezel so I just bought the alum door trim from LMC and cut the cloth portion under where the trim goes to make it fit. The suburbans didn't have the trim that extended across the whole door panel like the trucks.

I think SEM makes some pretty good stuff, might be a hair off of the original color though. Can't remember all their color options.
