Chop the top? Or don’t, that is the question...

The Camaro looks pretty good. This car has much more mass appeal. Only thing I personally don't like is the hood. 60's Cougar?

It's a '67 Corvette 427 scoop.

So much for each to their own! ROFL
Hah, that only goes so far.

Most of the times I'd say to each their own, but some things are unforgivable. I am not personally a fan of chopped tops on most things post 1950s (and even then within reason) or lowered trucks in general, but I understand that some people are into it and that's fine it's their vehicle not mine, I hope they're happy. Often times I can see a vehicle that's totally not my style but can appreciate the amount of work that was put into it, and that makes it cool in its own right. You do you and I'll do me.

But that yellow truck, man it's a whole other story. Should be a crime to deface a beautiful truck so badly. That's right up there next to forceful rape or murder.

Well here's the things. I think it definitely is unique and shows off your skills as long as you do it right. But I got to say I just think it takes away part of that classic look that all the Ks and Cs share. I think that if you chop it and then lower it (I dont know if you are but I am assuming you are lowering it) it just becomes to low all in all and honestly loses its truck qualities and becomes more of a car. But overall I just dont like the look of it either. That's just my opinion though.

Insightful thanks!

After careful deliberation- as beautiful as I find a mild chop to /possibly be - made the decision that there are plenty of other modifications to be completed that will showcase my abilities and someone else can tackle that in their own thread, or just Maybe I’ll do it on my next square, but not this one.

the idea is not to sell it, but I get your points, can you explain the proportions get out of whack?
Have you ever really sat an looked at one of these trucks?

Start from the front. Notice the height of the front grill section with bumper then the correlating tailgate measurements from top of bumper. Remember these technically came without bumpers. Those measurements relate to the height of the windshield and cab area. And in turn those heights match with the door height, from the body line down of course. Symmetry my friend.

Changing the height of the roof makes multiple areas seem off.

I respect that, and have continued to look at it from multiple angles, note above yours says it all sir.

Ok, well at least you drop a big block in. We all would be very pleased to see that. Thank you.

How many inches were you thinking? Because of the body height, I would suggest no more than 2-3".

As for headroom, Brother's Trucks sells a kit that lowers the seat a couple inches.

Edit: Just read that you decided not to do it. Keep us posted on other mods!

I applaud the individual that makes a project his or her own! Chop it, drop it, raise it, just plain enjoy it. How boring would it be if we all thought the same!!!
