I recently purchased a 1985 K!0 and sometime in its life a previous owner replaced the engine. After looking at the engine stamping number on the back of the block I have found out it is a 1987-1995 350. Is there any way to narrow down the year? Just want to know so I can look up parts, vacumn lines diagram ect.
Any info would be appreciated.

Been a long time since I had to so this but I think there is a stamping on the block passenger side just above the waterpump that should tell you everything. I can double check on that info tomorrow if I need to. I'm not home right now so no blocks to look at.

Thanks , If you can confirm that I would appreciate. IF you have a chance to shoot a pic of the location that would be great.
THanks again.

The block date casting number will be on the back of the block with the engine casting number.

The engine assembly numbers will be on a flat pad beneath the front of the passenger side cylinder head.

Take pics of all of those locations and someone here can tell you what you have.

It should be noted if the deck has been milled the engine ID number is likely missing unless it was re-stamped.

Well, at least it looks mostly just dusty and not super greasy. You should be able to climb up there and get a pic of both sides of the back of the block. Looks like you have room to get a pic of the engine data plate right behind the alternator as well.

You'll have to pull the alternator..but the exact year of the block wont help you with vacuum routing. That should be routed to 85 k!0 spec - for the truck.
