Installing a new radio... any ideas what the brown wire is?
Best I can find it’s the dimmer wire that new units don’t use. That seem right??

Since your truck is an 87, I assume it came with the digital radio.
That's the constant power for memory when the ignition is off.

That stereo looks vaguely familiar. It sure helped having the OEM radio when setting up the shafts on the new radio.

Nice job! Wish I would have done that instead of cutting my dash to fit an NOS Alpine DIN radio that I had laying around. It was a real PITA, but at least it turned out well.
