Just picked up a 1974 c10 custom
With no options strait six. It needs a dash bezel but can’t seen to find an aftermarket. My question
what is different about a 1973/4 bezel vs a 1976 and up?
I’ve seen several used ones that might fit but sellers don’t have year models.

I think it had something to do with the 73-74 specific sizes around the bottom of the steering column or the wiper or headlight switch openings.
I can't remember exactly what it was. I have a 74 and picked up one a couple years ago and remember it being specific to those years.
Sorry that's not a lot of help.

Only issue I had one mine was the windshield wiper switch. It sits too high. I notched the dash and self drilled some new screw spots.

Worked like a charm. You CAN install the bezel without modifying the wiper switch but you’ll have to pop off the thumb grip thingy. it’ll just be a metal tab sticking out.
it’ll function but it’s too annoying to use without the “button” or whatever it’s called.

@Dr Evil is right. Look for the dash that has a bump out where the headlight switch mounts. You can use the newer dash if you use a headlight switch for the later model and remount the wiper switch like @eskimomann209 states.

The '75-'77 wiper switch has the delay built into the off/speed switch. You notice it's wider, the rectangle above the large round hole. I'm not sure about why the headlight switch is a larger round hole. Mine is the '73/'74 and there is a bulge for the headlight switch with a small hole for the pin that goes to the off/on. The pin is triangle in shape and you pull it out at two positions the first for parking lamps and all the way out for headlights, and you take hold to the knob and turn it in one direction or the other to dim or brighten the instrument lights. The headlight knob on the later panel just must be larger for a bigger knob for dimming, I don't know.

below column piece changed too, there are a couple different ones sizes etc. also many little thing changed every few years o these bezels, like turn sigal lamp holes shapes round vs arrows shaped and of course 84-up switches were moved to multi function switches on column,, and so on... if you count any small misc details changes then these technically changed anywhere from one year to a couple or few years,. and then theres also the a/c vs. non-a/c as well.. the factory four-seasons systems anyways...,
