Wow - I did nothing as exciting as delivering a baby ! Added a 1/4 quart of oil after I drove it in to work. Reward for jump starting the wife's truck Friday evening.

Of course, I guess you could say all those WOT moments were rewards, too ...

Baby girl, 9lbs 7oz, at 14:47. That makes the count at 7 girls and 3 boys.

Congratulations and good luck.

One more and you got half a football team lol

This seems fitting Andy

A little history. I think I bought my '77 somewhere around 2000. I don't remember how many miles it had on it because it's hard to know when the odometer only has 6 digits. It currently shows 55,578.6 miles. Over the 20+ years I've owned it I might have put 10,000 miles on it but I doubt it. It sat in a field (aka: storage) for about 8 years. I should have covered it during that time because it has some rust issues as a result. I've been slowly dealing with them. The tires are at least ten years old and still look great.

I say that to say this. I replaced the rear diff fluid today for the first time. It had what appeared to be the original gasket still on it. There was no evidence of any gasket adhesive anywhere which makes me think the gasket was installed at the factory. The fluid was, of course, very black. After spraying everything down with a couple of cans of brake cleaner I inspected the gears and gear parts and found absolutely no wear or damage. I wire brushed all the rust off the cover and applied rust treatment to it. I installed a new gasket (hate using gasket adhesive) and reinstalled the cover, filled it with 80w90, and took it for a drive.
Next up is adjusting the valve lash and changing the tranny fluid (don't think it's ever been done).

Got almost all my new brake lines run. Just have to do the two hard lines on the rear end and the wheel cylinders tomorrow. Forgot my drum brake tools today [emoji2357] Also test fitted the D52s. They don’t clear the rallies [emoji22] So looks like I’ll be back on 20s sooner than later

Sorry about the D52s, I was told ralleys would clear. Maybe some clearance grinding would work?

That probably would work, but I don’t really want to. They’re too pretty lol. Plus they don’t have near as much meat as a stock caliper, so I’m not sure I’m comfortable grinding them

I've had instrument panel lights going on and off so I pulled the cluster out and found the circuit board to have problems. I've ordered a new cb and twist sockets.

Finally got around to cleaning up the wires. Got rid of the crimp connections and soldered everything. Also had to offset my cruise control bracket to fit correctly.

Put a new battery in the '79 crew cab today. The old battery shorted out internally and killed my early 70's Napa battery charger that my dad gave me.

I also never noticed until today that a 70's cab band was completely different than the 80's cab band.
