Recently got some 15x10.5 8 lug rims for free. I've heard you have to do some grinding on the front brakes somehow? Anyone heard of this?

Yes, it's true. They can be made to work.

Depends mostly on the amount of backspacing and what you want to put them on. Very little backspacing on a 3/4 ton probably means little to no grinding. Lots of backspacing and a 1 ton truck usually means lots of grinding.

Do 15in wheels always fit over all the 14b Full Float drums? For some reason I was thinking there was issues sometimes too getting over the rear drums.

The rear drums on some are 15" arent they?

But from what ive seen, the actual wheel surface is tapered down enough to fit, unless of course you have a really deep backspacing.

I believe they all fit over the big 13" drums. Not sure about the aluminum 15's that were super duper rare in 8-lug.

How much did you have to grind down? I'm starting that project right now

I would love to have 15" on my 3/4 ton 84 GMC, but I don't think that's a possibility
