Hello all,

I’m not sure if I have the right proportioning valve for my 87 V10. On the box that came it says 73-86 but on the ad it said 73-87. Has anyone used this same one? I paid $45 for it on eBay. If this is wrong, which one should I get?

Thanks,
Cameron

It should be okay. I think the '86/'87 thing has to do with the '87 K trucks having rear wheel anti-lock, so would have a different valve. I @$$ume you don't have that on a V Chassis.

70s iron steel tyle is different as far as fitment etc.. one front line out port vs. two separate front outputs on the 870s flat aluminum style ones.. and ABS started in later 80s as the RWAL style system.. if you have an 87 truck then you want to use the 80s style flat alumimum one with same RWAL ABS or not., this one here would not fit work readily on a 70s truck., without at least modifications to plumbing of the front lines. im getting ready to swap replace the combo valve on my '75 C20 here soon, it is leaking badly out the balancing valve end and i have a good one from a 1977 M500 chrysler built motor home chassis 14K GVWR and it is exact same 70s style combo valve assy, this motorhome had alot of saginaw and delco and gm systems parts on it,. "GM" style hydrobooster, and steering pump, a normal every day light duty style saginaw steering box, and so on.
