I normally don't really care how bad aftermarket parts are but I must say...

Wow, the quality or really the lack of, on every part I just got from LMC is awesome. It seems like they put more effort into making them garbage than just making something decent.

I spent a good amount of time on the internet researching where to get parts from and found a lot of bad reviews on LMC parts. Most negative reviews I kinda discard because it seems most of them people don't know what they are doing but turns out they are all spot on about LMC.

I'll start with the rear view mirror. It fit on the stock windshield mount so 1 point to them but it's such a piece of junk. I mean it looks so cheap. When it's in day mode and you try to adjust it, it pops into night mode. The night mode does not move enough to actually go into night mode.

I got the passanger door mirror in convex and they were the only place that had it in stock (wonder why lol). I could write a book on how terrible this thing is so I'll just leave it at that. I am happy that they didn't have the driver side in stock or I would have gotten that one as well.

On to the lower steering column cover. It absolutely does not line up to anything it should. Looks like something that belongs on a dodge interior.

I got a couple other ods and ends to but like I said, everything is terrible and it probably would have been easier to just make a half decent part.

The really sad thing is is, I had a ton of parts, real original parts, years ago but when I was getting ready to move I started giving it all away.

Yeah, yeah I know, get what ya pay for...

I've got an order to them in my cart for close to $400....biggest thing was the rubber body mounts as I cant find them anywhere else in OE rubber. Was ready to pull the trigger then found they dont take paypal, so that stalled me again (hate having a cc bill/balance). Hearing these reviews (and yours isnt the first) has made me gun shy all the more. Doesn't help them either they're out of stuff most all the time - indefinitely. I suppose the changes in trade rules with the chi-coms is some of that too.

They just seem to be the only ones (unbelievably) that has alot of this stuff, but if its garbage, then why bother.

You going to return anything?

Ive been burned by LeMeCifitfits before too. I ordered the tow mirrors, chrome molding, and a window motor relay kit and the relays kit was obviously trash and got sent back.
Also I dont like NOT using paypal since they cover your ass so well. Makes me think LMC knows how many reurns theyll be getting and also knows how easily paypal will give you your money back.

I have mixed results with LMC. Bought a mirror for Mean Green, and the threads stripped out while installing it, so I just put the OEM mirror back in. Got an antenna for Crusty Biscuit, and even with it extended all the way out, which puts it at roughly 10 feet in the air, not one radio station can be picked up, and it doesn't matter if you're sitting right next to a repeater. Their seals have been good. Door parts seemed okay. I only order from them if I absolutely have to.

I would hope it to be impossible for them to mess up making body mounts but you never know.

No I really don't have time to return anything and figure they would sell it to somone else that would end up just as disappointed as I am. I'd rather do society a favor and put this stuff into a landfill.

I also got the outer door window seals, I'm not even going to try to put those on. The odds of any of the clips lining up is slim N nun

They show alot of the rubber seals (which I'll also need - saw a Goodmark brand but very mixed reviews on them as well), but there was nothing as far as body mounts. Maybe have to call them?

Oh crap, maybe it's just the older mounts they make. My apologies. I didn't even look before I mentioned it because last time I was on their site, I was looking for mounts for Crusty Biscuit, and I just figured if they made mounts for a '65, they would for the newer stuff too. Now I need to go back and check to see if they can re-pop my rear C20 cab mounts.

I bet they would make you some, though.

lol...no worries. Another thing I'm running into....places that did at one time, dont anymore.

Hoping some fellas who have done full restos like I'm in the middle of (and bought it all) will chime in with KNOWN good brands and sources. None of this stuff is cheap price wise, so can only do this once.

Think I've got a couple of cab mounts in my garage. I'll take a look when I get home from work. You'll probably have to remind me tho. Lol

Pretty sure my neighbor gave me some (2) in all the square parts he gave me.

I bought some in the 90's for the 73-87 trucks to modify Mean Green's (1965) rear cab mount, but never did it because the body lines were good, and I was seeing many older 70's trucks with the sagging cabs and I didn't want that to happen down the road with Mean Green. Those 73-87 mounts were polyurethane back then, I can't remember if rubber was offered, but I bought what LMC had.

The quality of this stuff has always been up and down, doesn't matter if it's sheetmetal or rubber or anything in between.
Sometimes very acceptable quality shows up... sometimes not.

Body parts are made all over the map, really. Mexico to China to Malaysia to India and many other places. A parts distribution center in China might very well be buying parts from anywhere but China. Best is keep fingers crossed when ordering. Just because buddy got good stuff doesn't mean you will... and the opposite is just as valid.
